  • Beyond great
A very sturdy little device that should last my life and probably even my grandkids if taken care of. It is heavy but that just means it is strong and long lasting. I would not expect much if it were light weight. A nice tool to have for sure.

  • Every prepper wants one of these
I haven't actually tried to use it yet, but I'm happy to have a 4-way sillcock key in my emergency preparedness kit. I bought a couple extra to give as holiday gifts, too.

  • Useful Tool to have
Works great... great tool to have in your BOB-or GHB... but also handy to use around the facility...

  • Urban Survival Tool - In the BOB / Tool Bag / MTB Gear Bag
I grabbed one of these to keep with the tool bag in my truck. If I ever break down at night near a business, it can be the key to staying hydrated for a night.. or more. My main reason was because I use the water access point on the building at work to wash my muddy mountain bike... and it seems to work like a champ. This sillcock key is pretty solid and doesn't feel like it will strip easily. Though its large enough to comfortably grab, the lack of texture to the tool can create a challenge if you are sweaty on those humid hot summer days.. or if your hands are wet after opening the valve. I also want to note that this tool is made of two pieces put together, not one single solid piece. The reason I mention this is because under extreme pressure it could potentially break. Based on how it feels I doubt you can break it unless you try. Most valves would fail before this tool... Now I need to order one to keep in my BOB.. ... show more

  • Good for Survival Bag.
First, I've not used this device. - It is small, heavy and looks like it will last a long time. - I do wish their was a case or clipping ring attached to this device. - Price is fair. Seriously, this little bugger can be hard to find and you might have to drive from store to store before you A) find one or B) find a clerk who knows what one of these are (amazing how many folks think you are using dirty words when using the name of this device... sheesh!). - It is a good tool to add to your BOB for urban emergency situations. Check YouTube for references as to how to use it, and what other gear to include with it. - Why did I knock it down 1 star? It shipped via US Postal (which has difficulty delivering mail to the correct houses in my neighborhood). ... show more

  • Put one in your "bug-out" bag, survivalists and preppers!
Full write-up here: [...] Imagine this scenario: for whatever reason, you are bugging out, and have to travel through an urban or suburban area, or even along an interstate highway. It's hot. Dang hot. And you need water. There's no streams or lakes or ponds nearby. Nothing is open, and there's no power to operate a soda machine, even if there was one around. You've got a container in your bug-out bag, but you need a source of clean water. Ever seen those special faucets without handles on the side of a convenience store or gas station, or other commercial building? It's known as a keyed sillcock hydrant. They are everywhere in the suburban and urban environment. They're used by building maintenance people for connecting water hoses for washing sidewalks, etc. It's a good bet that almost all have good water in them 24/7/365, whether the business is open or not. Even with the power down, there's probably going to be some pressure left, which allows you to get some hydration. Without a sillcock key, it's going to be hard to get water. Get one for your bug-out-bag! ... show more
