Great radio if you’re looking to save space or you’re looking for a more affordable radio with all the options. For a stock radio it did alright, 3-4 miles matched with a 3’ Firestick. I’m not sure if it can be peaked, but if you could get a little more power through it I think this radio would be in my top 3. I had the older model that I had bought years ago but rarely used it. When I installed it in my Jeep recently I noticed the cable had hardened and cracked, exposing the wire. Taping it made it look ugly and didn't stop the cable from cracking and splitting, and you couldn't replace just the cable. Also, I wanted it to be easily removable to prevent it from being stolen, but it was difficult to install it where the connection was hidden but still easy to remove. When I bought this replacement CB I wad going to install it where the cord still plugged into the base. After discovering I could plug it into any USB, I replaced my cigarette lighter receptacles to only have USB-A and USB-C receptacles, and plugged in my CB this way so it was easier to remove but keep the appearance clean. As mentioned in other feedbacks, the reception isn't that great. However, for me it wasn't meant to be used on the highway by me anyway. Rather, I wanted the CB in my Jeep for offroad use only. I haven't tried using it on the trails yet, but I plan on soon. I wish it did have the option for a PA like the old CBs I used while growing up. I'd like to wire my stereo speakers for it but apparently I needed an adapter to turn off the music when receiving a signal. Other than that, I am pleased with this product. ... show more

Two of these were purchased. Work great. Good clear speakers. Bluetooth connection is perfect to the CB handset. Main units are mounted in trunk. Weather alert and weather stations work fine. Highly recommend.

I am a driver and had no interest in a cb because I keep mine turned off most of the time in my rig and get tired of hearing the carbage on a cb and the white noise.....but this is so cool I had to reconsider the idea for my personal vehicle. I paired it with a 4ft firestick, have my mount grounded good and got my swr's low and the clarity is better then any cb I've ever owned. I've ran cobra for over 27 years behind the wheel and never have been excited to hear the chatter until installing this one. I have received and transmitted over 10 miles with obstruction and thats good! There's just a one con....1. While scanning all channels the hand held locks out functions such as volume or squelch. You have to stop scanning to adjust anything. Other then that it's great. I plan to install a flush mount usb port that plugs directly to the transceiver and the mic to the flush mount for a remote set up that matches my gmrs radio. Small, compact, great audio and packed with features. Definitely one to consider. ... show more

I installed this in my Gladiator for a trip to Moab. This was super easy to install under the passenger seat, running the wires to the power under the dash. The antenna I put behind the back seat in hopes that it would work. Everyone on the trip said I had the clearest mic in the group with a range of over 2 miles before it started to break up. CB did not work as I expected. I was less than a mile from a major interstate where 18 wheeler traffic was heavy, did not get any response. The only thing I could get was the weather channel.

I love the size of this CB, no longer do I have my old big CB in my minivan. This works well for me while driving long distances, plus love the headphone feature, I can hear my music over the CB speaker, and my family don't have to listen to CB noise anymore. My only gripe is, I don't understand why Cobra doesn't include a cigarette lighter end to make this plug and play for the power unit! Having to go out and purchase this separately makes NO since. I was truly disappointed when I saw this. So off to the Truck stop I went. I purchased the (Wilson 30512VPP 12V Power Plug with Brass Posts) to plugin the power unit. ... show more

Y’all know these new vehicles have no extra space for mounting a traditional radio but this thing is great. Black box mounted under seat with a power hookup and handheld mic with all controls links wirelessly up to black box! Hookup your antenna and Just plug the mic cable into a 5 volt usb outlet and your talking . Putting out a good 4 watts barefoot and I’m using a 4ft firestik. You have to have 5 volts to make the system work. If you don’t have 5 volts it will just flash. They pack a cigarette lighter adapter in the box in case you don’t have a 5 volt usb outlet. ... show more
