Does this stuff work? Absolutely it does!! My son's bedroom faces directly east and gets full sun from sunrise until about 2:00 PM. We do not have any large trees to provide shade, so his room was always much hotter during the summer than the rest of the house. I installed this window film and we could immediately see a difference in temperature the following day. It does not hinder the view looking outside, but if you're outside, looking in, it's completely reflective during the day time. The installation was super easy too. I recommend using a razor blade and some Windex to clean the glass first, then make sure it's completely dry. Get a spray bottle of soapy water and one of those little shower squeegees when you go to put the film on the glass. If you've never done this before, watch a video on youtube on how to install car window tint, it's basically the same thing. First you'll want to cut the film so that it's about 1.5 inches larger than your glass in both directions. Then spray lots of soapy water in the glass. Next, you peel the backing off of the film and "float" it into position, using the squeegee to smooth out the air-bubbles. The film will actually start to cling automatically. Again, just watch a video on youtube. Definitely worth the money paid.

I live in New Mexico, and during the summer it can hit 110 degrees here pretty easily. My office window sits directly in the path of the afternoon sun during the hottest part of the day, and even with blackout curtains and blinds, the brightness and heat still managed to punch right through everything. It got to the point where sitting in this room during the afternoon was honestly miserable sometimes. So after constantly seeing these privacy window films show up on Amazon, we finally decided to take a chance on one. And honestly? I have not looked back since. The difference was noticeable almost immediately. You can still clearly tell it’s daytime outside, and you can still see the blue sky and natural daylight coming through, but the harshness of the sun is dramatically reduced. The room no longer feels like the surface of the sun during the afternoon hours. Before this, I used to have two fans running in my office just trying to stay comfortable. Now the room feels significantly cooler and much easier to work in. What impressed me most is that it doesn’t completely darken the room the way blackout curtains do. It cuts down the intensity without making you feel like you’re sitting in a cave all day. The photo I included was taken through the privacy film with the blinds up and the curtains slightly opened, and I think it perfectly shows the balance you get between daylight and glare reduction. It worked so well on this office window that we ended up doing all the windows on this side of the house, including my wife’s home office. And now we’re even considering doing the dining room windows because of how much it helped with brightness and heat control. One thing I absolutely want to mention, though, is installation. This is definitely one of those “measure 10 times, cut once” situations. Give yourself a little extra room when cutting the film because if you cut it too tight and leave even a tiny sliver uncovered on the edge of the window, that sunlight will absolutely find its way through and drive you crazy. Taking your time during installation makes a huge difference in the final appearance. We’ve now had this film on the office window for about 16 months, and I honestly haven’t noticed any meaningful drop in quality at all. But even if I eventually had to replace it someday, I would absolutely buy it again without hesitation. For us, this has been one of the best quality-of-life purchases we’ve made for the house. Five stars easily.

This is a great product. I can stand inside my garage and look out and no one can see inside. You may see a shadow at night with a light on inside. It was not difficult to apply.

Loved how easy this was to install! We got a large roll and cut it to fit three pieces for our big windows facing another apartment building (and still had some leftover). Our neighbors love to hangout in the alley way between our two buildings and stare at us throughout the day, so we decided to get some privacy film to make our home a little more comfortable! Since our windows are so big, I was nervous to cut and apply the film. (Two of our windows are 29.5in x 27.5in, and our kitchen window is 23.5in. x 40in.) However, I found that cutting an extra half inch and using a tape measurer made the process less stressful since I could always cut while applying the film to the window. After cleaning the windows, I generously sprayed the window with a bottle of dish dawn soap with water. The film was easy to adjust to my liking and I even had enough time to cut any excess off before using an old credit card to smooth out the film and remove excess water and bubbles. Using a towel around the edges to pick up the water helped with sealing the edges of the film. (Also I found that the credit card was enough to get rid of the bubbles despite the size of the windows!) Now, we no longer have to experience awkward stares from our neighbors! As you can see from the photos, light is still able to come into the apartment, but the view is frosted, which is just what we wanted. The only con of the film is that it enhances the details of paint that are on the other side of our window that we could not clean. It doesn't bother us too much, but from some of the comments, it may bother others. We don't live on the ground floor so we aren't able to clean the other side, but if you do then I'd recommend trying to clean the window to see if the white marks disappear!

PICTURE WITH DESCRIPTION IS MISLEADING! The thicker blue tint with the visible grid is what I have bought for years. The picture associated with the THINNER BLACK film is actually the BLUE THICKER GRID film. Caution when ordering, the cheaper price is for the less quality film, less effective, not the thicker blue grid film. Last year I paid $6.99 a roll for the thick blue grid film, this year to expensive! Will return the 4 I bought!

The first time I ordered this it came and was so easy to put up and worked so well I ordered it again. The second one didn’t lay flat even though I stretched it out for an afternoon like the first one. It wouldn’t lay flat on the window and kept rolling up and coming off. So I tried laying it out with weights over night and it still came off. It just won’t lay flat so I’m disappointed and gave up. Not sure I want to try again.

Exactly What I Needed—Daylight In, Prying Eyes Out! I bought this window privacy film because I was tired of feeling like I was living in a fishbowl—hi, neighbors 👋. Installing this stuff was surprisingly easy. Just cleaned the glass, sprayed a little soapy water, slapped it on, and smoothed it out with a card. Done. No tools. No stress. The best part?
