I bought this to cover a 12-pane bathroom window. The most time-consuming part was trying to cut 9 pieces that perfectly matched the size of the 9 panes but after that, the rest was super easy. Be sure to spray lots of water on both the surface you are covering AND the smooth side of the film once you remove the backing. It makes application super easy. Trick to getting the backing of the film removed is to stick a piece of scotch tape to that side (the smooth side) right on a corner, with a small piece of that tape exposed that you can stick to your left thumb (if you’re right-handed). Then while the tape is stuck to your left thumb and the backside of the film, use your right thumb to separate the front side of the film from the backside. The piece of tape is key because it keeps one side planted while you’re tying to separate. ... show more

Easy to use! I have a shed with a desk that faces west = direct sun in my face in the evenings! I only wanted something to cover the top panes of the window glass vs block out curtains. VOILA!... this film blocks the sun completely!! Problem solved!!! Easy to measure and cut. However, I went over a bit on my measuring and, instead of recutting, I assumed that I could use a razor cutter to zip off the extra film around the edges. That did not work well for me. Try to cut exactly what you need for your project with scissors before placement- you can hold it up to the window before taking off the backing. I ended up with ragged edges so I just put an additional strip (cut with scissors and a glue stick ;) over my mistake. It isn't noticeable. Secure the top edge with tape (remove later) and then spray, spray, spray water on the pane. Pull a little of the backing off as you go, pulling downward and smoothing film with your hands. Use a plastic straight edged scrapper type device to "squeegie" water from the inside - you can see from the outside where you need to do this on the inside. The window areas that I covered were small - I imagine that on a large surface area that you would definitely need extra hands to make all of this happen! I ordered the flower pattern and it is as cute as can be!! Best of all?...IT WORKS!!! (and can be removed if I ever want to take it off, which I can't imagine!) ... show more

I was hesitant about whether this would work as expected but it was great! So easy to apply. I only wish it had measurement lines on the opposite side so it would be easier to cut straight lines to fit the window.
