Update: I have modeled a cover for the belt and pulleys. Thingiverse ID: 7266411 Update: To learn how to update the settings in PathPilot (if installing on a Tormach), find me in the Tormach Operators Group on Facebook. Original: Every once in a while China really outdoes themselves. This is one of those times. This thing is simple, clean and accurate. Now, honestly, there isn't too much to these, but this little package for $250 is a great deal. I found a random $20 controller to go with this and it works great. Spins plenty fast, even with the 6:1 reduction. Mating it to my Tormach took some work, but in the end, operates perfectly. Tormach is not expecting a 4th axis with a 6:1 reduction ratio, so none of the micropulse pin settings on the stepper driver generate a proper 360 degree turn when commanding a 360 degree move. You have to go into an .inc file on the controller and change the 4th axis SCALE. Then, if you want it to turn faster, you have to change some speeds, also in the .ini files. It's all on the LinuxCNC forum. But very easy to do and saves $3000 versus a MicroARC. Highly recommended.

Great rotary axis. Works perfectly, and I can know use my CNC as a lathe for most things. It's larger than you would expect, so plan accordingly. Also, the one thing I wish it could do easily is replace the chuck. It's possible but not recommended. I had a bunch of questions about the device before ordering and got prompt and precise replies each time, so kudos to their excellent customer service.

The CNC rotational axis works well for light tasks and setup is straightforward. However, I wish it produced more torque and speed for heavier or faster jobs. Overall, good for hobby use or small projects but may fall short for professional workloads.

Very nice unit. I could not find any backlash or any play. Got it in just two days. It worked right out of the box. Price is better that Ebay. I'm going to use 2" aluminum blocks under the unit to turn pieces up to 9" diameter, without them you can do 5" diameter. The quality of the chuck and tail stock looks really good but the motor was shorted out when it arrived. I wired it in and immediately got an alert on my stepper drive and the motor would not turn. I wired in another motor the the drive and everything runs perfectly. I have over 12 years experience building CNC plasma tables, milling machines and lathes

Just received the package. I noticed that the ball bearing that holds the tip of the tailstock is blocked or damaged, I was able to lose it with WD40 but still, it has a lot of friction. There is no instruction or information on how to fix this. Customer service helped me to solve the issue and I am pleased with the results. Four stars due to the initial issue
