This boom arm meets a specific need that I had, namely providing a low profile arm that could be adjusted parallel to my work desk. The design is simple and yet well thought out. It allows for adjustment in just about every direction, including several riser add-ons if for some reason you need a low profile boom arm that is positioned higher. And because of the simple design, I found the install and adjustment to go very quickly compared to other boom arms. There are a few weak points. When you use the included Allen keys to tighten up the joints, there is no captive setting that keeps the arms free to adjust while still captured in such a way that you can't lift them out. So you have to sort of use a trial and error method to find the right tightness. Similarly, the ball joint can indeed give way when using heavier microphones. I just turned the mic adapter perpendicular so I could mount it in sideways. Problem solved. If you choose you can also unscrew the included mic adapter and screw your own mic directly onto the end of the ball attachment. The mic you use will determine which fitment works best for you. In terms of expense, this does come at a steep premium. Relative to similar boom arms with these capabilities, there aren't a huge number of alternatives. CONCLUSION Overall I am pretty happy with this. True, I could use much cheaper spring tension arms, but non can be completely parallel to my desk like this. I love not having to hear those springs straining under the weight of being fully extended. Plus there are tons of extra features that allow me to easily upgrade mics down the road and know that I have all the adaptability that I need. With all of that taken into account, I feel pretty comfortable recommending this.

I ordered this to replace a professional mic arm that lacked adjustments I needed for live streaming. I am currently using this for a Ffine k688 microphone that I use when live streaming. I have went through quite a few arms and all of them lack the adjustment this one has. The main point of adjustment I needed is right where the mic attaches to the arm. Almost all of the other arms I have only adjust in one plane at the mic itself usually only up and down. With this mic arm it pivots on a ball joint so you can tilt, turn, angle, and pretty much make any adjustment you want and after tightening the knob it stays put period. The arm itself is very high quality made from coated stainless steel with a tiny bit of texture to it in a matte black finish that feels super nice to the touch. It also included cord management with slots in the sides and hook and loop straps to lock everything down. The clamping mechanism is easy to use and works great and the arm itself is super easy to put together and install. It offers the most versatility of any arm I have used as there are 2 extensions that come with it. You can not only use these right at the base but also in between the two arm pieces. This versatility allows you to mix and match where you need the risers. You can use them all at the base or in the middle or any mix you need. The second part of the arm can also adjust up and down and locks securely with an allen wrench. I would like to see a locking knob here which would be my only complaint in case you need a quick adjustment an allen wrench is a pain but I have not actually found myself needing to adjust this once it's been set. The arm also easily turns out of the way. As far as sound transference I have had absolutely no noise transferred with this arm and it is super stable no wiggles or wobbles at all. Overall this is it! This is the arm I would recommend and my search is actually over for the perfect mic arm. Highly recommended for beginners and pros alike and it's also a great value.

I wanted a boom arm that clamps to desk rather than through a hole and this works well. I can move it easily into position and move it out. It keeps its place until I want to move it.
