  • Wasted $100s. Then this system solved all my problems and more.
Spent $100's to find this. No regrets. It is better than perfect. My goal has been for my Vision Pro, coupled with a MacBook Pro, to be my all-the-time computer. I don't want to pay any ergonomic price for all-day every-day use. Unfortunately, out of the box the Vision Pro is simply not that comfortable. My key criteria that all the other adapters I tried failed: (1) No weight on my face at all. This is the number one reason Vision Pro is not ergonomic for long use. After a few hours, the pressure on the face becomes uncomfortable if not painful. It also create "head set face". Red and tired looking marks around the eyes and cheeks. (2) An easy way to adjust to the proximity and angle of the vision pro front. I like it closer than Apple's light shields allow (adds another 10 degrees of vision all around), And a slightly different angle gives me better focus - but out of the box you get no angle control at all. In addition to customized vision, closer means less leverage for the front's weight to press down on my face. (3) I want to be able to shake my head without the headset wobbling. I tried many third party options, in addition to making custom changes to Apple's light shields and pads. Extra straps, alternate system, etc. I definitely found improvements, but never perfect. After a few hours I would find myself fussing, moving things around, trying to alleviate facial pressure and re-optimize the lens orientation for best focus. Frustrating. Then this product, which solved everything and more. (1) Weight on face, SOLVED! The front strap supports the front of the headset vertically taking its weight right off your face. Completely! They give you three pads to choose from: cloth,, foam and a soft fine faux leather. I chose the faux leather. (2) Non-optimal lens distance and angle SOLVED! Each side of the front strap has two wonderful innovations. First, where they clasp the Vision Pro's arms, you can wiggle the point of attachment forward or backward, precisely controlling distance between your eyes and the lenses. Second, just above that attachment on each side, is a rotating joint that allows you to adjust the angle of the front of the Vision pro upward and downward. A closer, wider field of vision, and better focusing positioning, noticeably removed a subconscious cognitive load. It just feels mentally easier to use. (3) Wobbling headset, SOLVED! The back strap provides a huge oval pad, spreading out pressure, You don't have to optimize that back support for stability. it's vertical and horizontal span holds the whole back of my head firmly and comfortably.. They provide three pads, I went with the flexible mesh one. Absolutely love it. Summary of all the options:: 3 different padding materials for the back head strap. 3 different materials for the front head strap. Alternate light shield padding - really nice. Little (removable) stickers, to ameliorate any points of hard contact. ----- Then the designers solved problems I didn't realized I had. Bonus A) The rotation points on the front-head strap don't just make it easy to position the lenses, but also let me tilt the front up and away from my eyes temporarily, like I would with sunglasses. This is great for popping in and out of an environment, reaching for a drink, checking my phone when otherwise in an immersive environment, and for being able to physically take a drink without the container hitting the headset. Once you get used to being able to tilt up and down instantly, you won't ever want to go back to the standard situation where the set is essentially locked to your face. Bonus B) Being able to tilt the front up also makes the head set easier to put on and take off. No need to loosen or tighten anything either way. And without having to adjust/re-adjust the fit, I find myself re-doing the eye setup much less. Transitions via tilting, or taking off/putting on, become so effortless the Vision Pro weaves itself into your life that much more. Bonus C) With no weight on my face, I dispensed with using Apple's light shield and padding.Nothing touches my face below the front strap. Less stuff to sweat on. Even less weight on my head. Really makes all day use viable. Dynamics of no light shield: • When not in an immersion environment, you get unbroken real world visibility, through and around the headset. You essentially forget you are wearing it. • When in immersive environments, the ability to have a closer, wider field of view reduces the side distractions that simply removing the light shield would open up. You can still look hard right or left to orient yourself, or grab a drink. • When in immersive environments, in a dark context, you get exactly the same experience you would with a light shield. With the wider view. I highly recommend this headset system for anyone frustrated by Apple's out of the box options. ----- Congratulations to the engineers for doing such a fine job, relative to every other solution I tried. As an engineer, I have two suggestions: 1) A weightless light shield made of black silk, cloth, thin foam, or other non-load bearing material would be a great option. It could attach around the front perimeter, like Apple's hard light shield, or be fitted more closely around the eyes and lenses. The lens magnets would likely be strong enough to hold onto material with small magnets around the lenses. I am going to create a custom cloth shield for myself. 1) I appreciate the optional front-to-back velcro strap. But it would be great if the front and back straps it connects to both had slots it could thread through. The current method of attaching under the foam of the front strap works fine, but is a little wonky. And not easy to adjust when wearing the set. And after all the options you already provide, its asking a lot, but thin foam on one side of the strap would be perfection. I only ask for more from your system, because I am never going back to anyone else's and would be happy to buy any new version updates you make. ... show more

  • Essential accessory for Apple Vision Pro if you need to use it for many hours
Apple Vision Pro is an amazing AR device - wide field of view, accurate motion/room tracking, super high resolution displays, but it is a bit heavy and hard to wear for extended time. This becomes a problem if you need to wear Apple Vision Pro for many hours, e.g. if you use it for work or software development. CMA1 head mounting system radically improves this - it helps to redistribute weight, removing stress Apple Vision Pro puts on your face, allowing using Vision Pro for many hours with no impact. When wearing Vision Pro with CMA1, you can even remove Light Seal, giving your face air breeze, making experience even better (suitable for a darker room). In a way, CMA1 makes wearing Vision Pro closer to HoloLens approach, which (in my opinion) is much more comfortable to wear, while giving you all of the benefits and technical advancements of the Vision Pro. Value for money is good - Apple Vision Pro costs over $3K, paying additional $69 for CMA1 to improve wearing comfort is certainly worthwhile. ... The only improvement I would suggest to CMA1 designers - add some weight to the back side of the CMA1, e.g. by mounting Vision Pro battery there - it would improve Vision Pro weight distribution and can make whole system more balanced when wearing. ... show more

  • Great Headset for Apple Vision Pro - All Day Use
This headset is amazing and I've had great results with it. It removes all discomfort/pressure and I am able to wear the Vision Pro all day. The unique mechanism they use allows the user to adjust the pressure/fit via a circular nob at the back. There are different sets of cushions on the front and back to provide different levels of comfort which I also liked. It allows me to remove pressure from the light seal. The light seal can also be removed for an enhanced experience and field of view. The install is easy and they provide a video on how to install it. I also found their support team to be super helpful in answering all my questions and providing guidance as needed. I highly recommend this headset for the Vision Pro. Very happy with this purchase! ... show more

  • Failed from attachment points, offered a full refund and reinforced version
Edit: The seller reached out to mention that they have addressed the issue with extra reinforcements to the connection points since I've purchased my kit 10 months ago, and offered a full refund of the original price. I will be purchasing the updated version that is currently available. Great customer service. Original review: I really wanted to love this. I used it for about 10 months and it offered a noticeable improvement in comfort during my weekly Vision Pro sessions (about an hour per week). Unfortunately, it has now completely failed at the most critical structural points. The left attachment arm sheared off from the middle while in use, sitting. As a result, all the strain shifted to the right arm, which chipped and is now on the verge of breaking as well (see attached photos for close-ups). Neither Vision Pro nor the head gear was impacted or hit in any way; this happened under light, careful use. It appears to be a fundamental design or material flaw; it's made out of very soft plastic all around, and while it is a fine choice for the rest of the head gear, it's a particularly bad material choice for structural and weight-carrying connection points. These points should have been substantially reinforced or at least made out of thicker plastic at the very least. There’s no visible warranty or support information that I could find, which is especially disappointing given the reputation of this head gear. If durability is important to you, I’d recommend steering clear unless the there's an updated version to handle the clear structural issues. Or alternatively, set aside some spare cash for having to buy a new one when the previous one breaks. ... show more
