Can a book be decadent? I call it can! Christine Morrison’s “Clothes Minded” is the ideal indulgence to curl up with and kick off a new year of reading. No screens required! This elegant collection of moving personal stories wrapped in style is smart, funny, sophisticated and so relatable. Enchanted by Christine’s writing, I laughed and learned and was moved to tears. Not simply reading about Christine’s growth and experiences, I was feeling them and transported through decades of memories and recollections of my own. Clothes Minded offers a fresh perspective on fashion, identity and how the two play into our daily lives. (The book made me think of “The Devil Wears Prada” when Stanley Tucci says that fashion is an art form because we live our lives in it!) The author, Christine Morrison does an excellent job with storytelling and keeps readers engaged while encouraging us to think about the connection between clothing, confidence and self-expression. It’s written with a retrospective glance to the past that will remind every Gen-X woman of her fashion choices across the decades. I appreciated the crisp, clear writing style, and found the essays witty and relatable. A Lovely Reflection on Fashion and Life

I absolutely loved Clothesminded!!! Christine Morrison has such a wonderful voice - warm, observant, and genuinely funny - and she captures something many of us feel but rarely put into words: how much the clothes we’ve worn over the years are tied to the moments of our lives. Reading this book brought back so many memories of different fashion eras and the confidence (or sometimes courage!) it took to wear certain things at different stages of life. Christine reflects on it all with humor and honesty, and I found myself smiling and pausing to remember my own stories at that time. What makes the book so special is that it isn’t really just about fashion. It’s about growing up, evolving, and the little stories our closets hold. As someone who has always loved clothes and style, I found her perspective especially relatable and unique. It’s thoughtful, charming, and such a pleasure to read. I finished it wishing there were more stories.

Clothesminded is one of those books that feels both thought-provoking and fun, which is harder to pull off than it sounds. Reading it took me straight back to sitting on the floor as a teenager, surrounded by a stack of fashion magazines, flipping pages for hours. Simpler times. Fashion that felt avant-garde yet somehow still within reach. Christine Morrison has a way of making fashion feel personal. Her writing is quietly captivating. The kind that pulls you in without you noticing you’ve somehow torn through 20 pages. The pieces & styles she references are described so vividly that I could picture them immediately, and transport to happy, specific memories I didn’t realize I still carried. Beyond nostalgia, this book is a reminder. To take risks. To trust your own taste. To face fears around self-expression and aging and worth. It’s for anyone who wants an escape, a walk through fashion history with some of the greats, and a nudge to keep evolving. Especially for women, it’s a beautiful reminder that it’s never too late. Clothes Aren’t Just Clothes

We’ve all heard that how we dress reflects how we see ourselves. Nice to think about, but harder to practice. In Clothes Minded, Christine Morrison uses her style as a beautiful representation of every stage of life, from the ambitious post-college grad to polished executive steering iconic brands. Her sartorial choices are a reflection of growth, challenge, grief, and change, and the stories that back them up are heartfelt, raw, and compelling. It’s tough to go through major identity shifts and then find the new version of yourself, and even harder to write about it so beautifully. As someone who worked in NY in fashion in the 90’s, I found myself in her story, and I bet you will too.

You Will Go Down a Fashionable Memory Lane!

Bravo to Christine for writing such a great memoir told in fashionable essays. Being the same age as the author, I was transported back in time when we were all working hard, finding love, and devouring our 3-inch thick Vogue magazines & the ever avant garde Interview magazine and being influenced by so few, but inspirational, designers, super models, and "it" girls. I love Christine's honesty and how she tied in fashion selections to underscore the times in her life - the good and the bad. Kudos for such a wonderful book that transported me, reminded me of my own fashion choices, and most of all - to remember we can be fashionable at any age. p.s. You don't need to be a fashionista to read this book!

Must read fashion love story.

Clothesminded is a well told story of Christine’s journey in finding her place in her career , wanting love and how fashion plays a huge part of our identities. She opens up about her health and personal experiences, very heartfelt and honest told story. I highly recommend and it was an easy read. I read it on vacation. Buy it and you won’t be disappointed.
