Description

Clenzoil marine & tackle is a high quality one-step cleaner, lubricant, and rust preventative oil for fishing reels, tools, knives, and other fishing gear exposed to extreme marine environments. It provides long-lasting and superior lubrication and corrosion protection in both freshwater and saltwater environments. Clenzoil is effective in removing and repelling oils, dirt, old Grease, and other contaminants and leaves behind a thin, non-greasy coating to prevent rust and lubricate all moving parts. Love Clenzoil. I use it on reels, guns, hobie mirage drive, pliers, knives, camper, and many other places. I fish inshore on the Texas coast and trust clenzoil. Clenzoil has protected my equipment from corrosion and helped free corroded parts. Love the scent too. One question I had was if the formula changed from Clenzoil Marine depending on the application type ( needle oiler, aerosol, pump...). In my picture you can see after transfering the from the 2 oz pump into my needle oilerit appears the same. The color, smell, and viscosity seem identical too. Next to it you can see the 12 oz aerosol can, after using it for a while I noticed it did not have the same color, it had less scent, and seemed thinner. In the small .25 oz sample bottle ypu can see the oil that came out of the aerosol can. It has no color. Im not concerned about color, but the thinness is concerning. With all that being said, I will keep buying the 2 oz pump spray or 16 oz spray bottle and transfer it to my different applicators for different needs. ... show more

I recently purchased both the Clenzoil Marine and Tackle oil and the Field and Range oil. I figure the best way to review these lubricants would be to pit one against the other for there are minor differences in their formulas at least it appears that way to me. I will start with the Marine and Tackle one first simply because it was the one I used the least. The marine formula much like the field formula has a pleasant smell and nearly clear to a light green bluish tint; whereas, the field formula has a pale green tint. There is a distinct but minor fragrance difference between the two which leads me to believe there might be some type of powder cleaner in the field recipe. The field may also contain some moisture control agent for my fingers became fairly dried out after exposure. The marine oil seems to be more elastic as in it tends to adhere to surfaces; case and point, I applied it to the worm gears of my Penn salt water reel(s) and after a quick operation the oil was still in place and did not tend to fly off into the inner assembly. Please not you may want to use either a dehydrated air source or canned air to spray clean your gear assemblies before applying the oil. A little goes a long way with both oils so take your time when spreading over these oils onto your equipment. The Field and Range oil has more of a penetrating effect and work well on both my revolver and semi-auto pistols. Also it can be noted that this oil moved quickly down a long barrel of a shotgun and I would recommend using a swab rather than depending on direct contact from the spray bottle. I used an old soft wash cloth to aid in evenly applying the oil. Also noted the Field and Stream formula did do some type of cleaning, for my cleaned unfired .243 came up with black residue when I ran a swab down the barrel. It was also apparent with my bore snake through my AR that it wasn’t as clean as I thought it was. I used Hoppe’s cleaners and oils in the past so now I am starting to rethink things. In closing I am very happy here and I have found a new “go to” solution for my sporting equipment. I plan to find other uses like my field glasses and such. I can highly recommend these oils and I am interesting in hearing of other uses sporting enthusiast like me have come up with in application of Clenzoil products.     • Great for lubing up fishing tackle
I bought this lubricant to use on my saltwater fishing reels, which were not turning as smoothly as they did when I first bought them. In addition to getting the reels casting smoothly, I also spritzed a bit of this lubricant on a cloth that I ran over the fairlead eyes through which the fishing line runs on the pole, which significantly diminished the friction on the line from the pole itself. This lubricant is unscented, easy to use, and unlike some, it does not get all over the place when you use it. I am very satisfied with it.
