I recently used Amazon's clear tarp with grommets for a poultry run, and here’s my take on its performance in that specific setting. ### **Durability** The clear tarp is surprisingly sturdy. When I first received it, I was impressed by how thick the material felt, especially compared to other tarps I’ve used in the past. It has a good balance between flexibility and toughness, so it can handle the typical wear and tear of being outdoors. My main concern was whether it would hold up against strong winds or rain, but so far, it’s done a great job. The grommets are reinforced, and when tied down securely, the tarp didn’t rip or tear, even in moderate winds. ### **Weather Protection** This tarp works wonderfully for shielding my poultry run from the elements. Because it’s clear, it allows sunlight to pass through, which is important for keeping the chickens warm and giving them natural light without having to be fully exposed to rain or snow. I’ve used it during both rainy days and light snowfall, and it effectively kept the run dry while letting in enough light to keep the area bright and comfortable for the birds. It also helps reduce wind chill, making the space feel more enclosed and sheltered without completely blocking airflow. ### **Ease of Installation** The grommets are evenly spaced and well-constructed, making it easy to secure the tarp with bungee cords or zip ties. I’ve noticed a bit of moisture gathering on the inside after particularly cold nights, but it hasn’t been a huge issue. I just make sure there’s enough ventilation, and that seems to help. - **Not Completely UV Resistant**: While it does let a lot of light through, over time, prolonged exposure to direct sunlight might cause the tarp to degrade a bit. I haven’t noticed any issues so far, but from my experience with similar products, plastic tarps can become brittle if left in the sun for too long. ### **Final Thoughts** For a poultry run, Amazon’s clear tarp with grommets works really well. This definitely isn't lasting through winter . Arrived snagged in a FEW places. I need it for bad weather that's around the corner so no time to return and all that . If the seller refunds or sends replacement I'll update.

I got these to protect our chicken run this winter. So far, so good! I got a bunch of those bungee ball connectors to put it up on the fencing. It's keeping their run relatively warm for what NE Ohio weather brings in the winter, and it's protecting it from a lot of wind and snow, which was one of my main goals. We still wanted them to get sunlight if it happened to be sunny, hence why we opted for the clear ones. They seem to be holding up well so far! It's the first year using them, so, we'll see how many winter seasons they last.

These tarps are decent but the grommets feel like they’re going to rip out. The edge along the side feels cheap and poorly stitched. The tarp itself isn’t too bad, it’s not super clear however and it’s foggy. Not very thick so it will tear easily. I don’t think this will hold up well during wind.
