  • If you prefer a mattress that's not "firm"... If you prefer a mattress that's not "firm"...
Item Thickness: 14 Inches Size: King
For years we had been sleeping on an old inner spring mattress with an inexpensive 4" foam topper. It was VERY SOFT, so much so that getting out of bed was sometimes an issue. Plus I often woke up with shoulder or neck pain. FYI, I'm a side sleeper. And lately, my sleeping's just been lousy. I expect Covid-related anxiety is party to blame. Regardless I decided I wanted a new mattress. I decided on a bed in a box. I got one for both of my kids over the years and they seemed happy. Plus, there are very well reviewed products out there for way less than traditional beds. Lastly, return policies often seemed too good to be true (see more on this below). After spend days reading hundreds of reviews and watching videos, I opted for a Tuft & Needle Mint. It cost about $1K. Easy ordering, arrived promptly, set up easily, and looked great. It was rated "firm." Well, my wife HATED it. Truth be told, she didn't give it a fair try. She kind of said she wouldn't like it before it arrived, said she didn't like it after night 1, and after night 2 said she was up all night with back pain. FWIW, this mattress should have relieved her back pain, not added to it, based on firmness and the fact that she's a back sleeper. Didn't matter. Her mind was made up. It had to go. So I called T&N on day three and they were FANTASTIC. Refunded my purchase price IMMEDIATELY and said I should give it to a local charity or, failing that, give it to a friend, family member, or neighbor in need. The return policy that I thought "too good to be true" turned out to be 100% true. Good on them! I gave it to a family in a neighboring town that lost all of their possessions to a house fire. I ordered the 2.0 via Amazon because it was the more "plush" of the options and because of the literally thousands of positive reviews. Oh, the fact that the price was less than half of the T&N didn't hurt. It arrived in about 8-9 days (my only complaint). Very large box that I once again had to navigate to the second floor. Popped it open and enjoyed watching the inflating process (again). After figuring out which side was front and back we placed it in place and let it "breath" for a couple of hours. With chemical smell to keep me off it, I put a cover and sheet on it and slept on it last night. It's definitely on the plush side. I wouldn't want it any softer. But I actually found it more comfy than the 2x more expensive mattress that preceded it. "They" say soft is good for side and stomach sleepers (which I am) and they appeared correct. I only had one night on it but I'm sure it'll be fine for me. My wife joins me on it tonight and we'll have to see her reaction. Should she not like it I'll just get her a 2" topper for her side to make it softer. You can't see the actual mattress so I can't comment on its looks or fit and finish. The cover isn't at taught as the T&N's cover and the materials not as rich feeling, but it doesn't feel cheap. As a bonus, it come with two "bonus" memory foam pillows and though it did smell a little when I woke up my head was on one of them and not one of my "old" pillows. I can't speak to its return policy and hope I don't have to. But I am comfortable saying (pun intended) that this is a nice, inexpensive option for someone who likes a softer mattress. ... show more

  • Trust the reviews, this is a fantastic supportive mattress with no smells! Trust the reviews, this is a fantastic supportive mattress with no smells!
Item Thickness: 14 Inches Size: Queen
I recently had some health issues, so I decided to upgrade to an adjustable bed frame and a new mattress. I went to a local bedding chain store, and they tried to talk me into a really nice $7k mattress; I went to a discounter and found a $2800 mattress that I could kinda live with. I starting looking on amazon and realized that there are a lot of price points and options, but you can't test the beds out (obviously). I have to say that the number of reviews for this mattress really helped a lot! I had help from a friend setting up the adjustable frame, and then unrolled the mattress on top and carefully cut open the plastic with the supplied cutter. The mattress is porous enough that it looked about 85% expanded after an hour, and 100% by mid-afternoon. I really appreciated that there was no outgassing or smells from the mattress; my wife has a very sensitive nose and she had no sensitivity to it. I slept (passed out) on it the first night. The mattress support is what I'd consider as medium-firm. I had a softer mattress before, so I'm very aware right now that it is firmer, but it still gives and molds to where you are on top of the mattress. My wife likes a firm mattress and that to me is like concrete; this Cool Gel mattress is nice and supportive. I've had it two nites now and while I usually read for a bit before falling asleep, I'm laying down, getting comfortable and dozing off right away. I'm a side sleeper, but I've been waking up on my back so far. I think since the mattress supports me so well, I'm finding a neutral position and not having to move as much. I've not had an issue with feeling too hot with the mattress, but I have a Phoenix summer ahead to test how cool this will be! I also like the included pillows... they are not tall, and nice and plushy. Next weekend, I'll have go through the 6 or so other pillows I own had since I won't be needing them to adjust for comfort anymore. I also want to say thank you to all the reviewers who listed what they liked/didn't like about the mattress. It really helped me in my decision and saving a lot of money in this purchase. I hope this review can help someone else out there too. ... show more

  • A Man's review of this thing.
Item Thickness: 12 Inches Size: Queen
To clear up a lot of confusion with this mattress, here is an Honest to God review.... Summary: - Mattress was easy to assemble (cut package and roll/air out) - Smell was not that bad... It's expected, so have a fan ready and air it out. - Firm version of memory foam (Perfect for bigger guys like me) But I have a hunch it breaks in over time. - Quality seemed very nice. I just received this mattress yesterday ( 8/5/2015 ). The packaging was as expected, the Cardboard box was in rough shape but the heavy duty plastic on the inside was untouched. I'm a 6'2" 230lb athletic man that spends most of my free time in the gym, so getting the package onto my bed frame by myself was no problem at all. To a regular or smaller person, you might need an extra hand carrying the 90+lb package. Upon opening, I cut the plastic and everything went as expected. The mattress inflated itself within 30 minutes with the corners lagging behind (I just hit the corners with my hand to fluff them up and help them catch up) . I let it sit for 24 hours before laying on it. The smell is strong, but it's not as bad as people make it out to be. Looking at the other reviews, some of these people must have had a bad mattress, or simply can't take a little odor for a few days (they might be sensitive). Here's the biggest point... The mattress is a very firm version of memory foam. Right out of the box the mattress doesn't give in as much as you may think. It's perfect for someone like me because, like I've said, I'm 230 lbs and athletic. This thing offers the perfect support for me, giving in to my heavy points and supporting my lighter areas yet I can see somebody who's much lighter having issues. I say to those people, give the mattress time to break in. I'll update this in a few months with a follow up. Tonight will be the first night I sleep on it, and I couldn't be more excited. The 10 minutes I spend laying on it this morning almost made me fall right asleep again. I'll keep this post updated because there seems to be a lot of confusion on this mattress. * Off topic * The first one I ordered got mixed up in the mail due to the carrier, therefor I got my mattress 3 days late. Amazon's customer service was perfect and I couldn't have asked for a better crew to solve the problem. ** UPDATE (08/07/2015) ** - Last night was the first night that I slept on the mattress and I can honestly say I had a great night sleep. I didn't wake up in the middle of the night at all. I was cool all night (Granted I had a 17" box fan blowing directly over me) and the only time I got hot was when my lady friend came over earlier. I'm usually a very hot sleeper and people who complain about the heat of this thing should invest in a fan. Even without the fan it was very cool at first, but it did start warming up slightly after 30 minutes or so of laying in the same spot - but it wasn't that bad. I can say that I'm very pleased with my first night on this thing. *** UPDATE 08/24/2015 Sleeping on this thing has been a pleasure. It's not revolutionizing, but it's much more comfortable than my last mattress. The smell is pretty much gone although it did take awhile. The smell was honestly not that bad and the only way you could really smell it was if you stuck your nose in the mattress. I don't wake up in the middle of the night anymore from tossing and turning. That's a huge plus for me because on my old mattress It felt like I had a cycle of waking up at 3 or 4am from tossing and turning. The mattress is still very firm, but like I said before, it's perfect for me because I'm big and heavy enough to actually sink in a bit. ... show more

  • different sizes have different firmnesses
Item Thickness: 12 Inches Size: Twin
so, ive purchased both the twin 12 inch (labelled as "mattress" in size selection) and full size 12 inch (labelled "12 inch" in size selection), and i personally find them both nice mattresses for sleeping on solo. everything was super easy to open and set up. i let 'em rise for 24 hours and there was no super strong warehouse smell (though if you pressed your face into it without a sheet you could still get a whiff of plastic for like...a week. this wasnt an issue for me though) the twin was PRETTY FIRM for a memory foam mattress. i liked it alot, there was no sinkage or pit that formed when more than one person sat on it. it is for this reason that, when i decided to size up to a full so i had more room to sleep with my partner, i bought the same brand thinking itd be the same firmness, especially considering (unless im a dunce and missed it...) i didnt see any options to choose a firmness or specifications on the item listing FOR firmness (i.e. all i had to go on were reviews, many of which mentioned the mattresses being pretty firm for memory foam) the full size i got was VERY SOFT. like, much much MUCH softer than the twin i had. im fine with this when im sleeping by myself- its not like theres NO support, its just not as nice for sleeping with another person next to you because it IS soft enough that a dip will form under the heavier person. im not the pickiest about beds and firmness and all that, i still like both of the ones i got, and theyre great for the price i got 'em for sure. was just a tad disappointing finding out that the firmnesses arent standard accross all sizes and (as far as i could tell) theres no specifications saying which are what firmness. i didnt expect either bed to be permanent for me, which is why i only spent 350 on a full sized mattress, so its not like im too beat up about it. by myself, the full is plenty comfy and i expect it to last the few years i need it to. its just worth mentioning that the firmness can be kinda... unpredictable i geuss? 🤷♂️ ... show more

  • Perfect Short Queen Mattress – Cool, Supportive, and Great Quality
Item Thickness: 8 Inches Size: Short Queen
I’ve been really impressed with this Cool Gel 8” Short Queen Memory Foam Mattress. It arrived compressed in a box, and once opened it expanded quickly and was ready to use within a few hours. There was very little odor, which was a nice surprise compared to other memory foam mattresses I’ve tried. The medium-firm feel is just right. It has enough support to keep your back aligned but still provides that comfortable memory foam contouring. It relieves pressure really well around the shoulders and hips, making it comfortable whether you sleep on your back or side. One thing I really like is the cool gel layer. Memory foam mattresses can sometimes trap heat, but this one does a good job staying cooler throughout the night. The breathable cover also helps with airflow and feels soft to the touch. The short queen size fits perfectly in RVs or smaller spaces where a standard queen is too long, and the 8-inch profile still feels supportive without being overly bulky. Overall, this mattress offers excellent comfort, good support, and great value for the price. If you’re looking for a quality short queen memory foam mattress that sleeps cool and feels supportive, this one is definitely worth considering. Highly recommend. ... show more

  • Exceptional, Excellent, Fantastic, Best deal you will ever get, plus Best rest you will ever get
Item Thickness: 14 Inches Size: Queen
Okay, I waited since Nov 25 to write this review. I was having shoulder issues with my Newer Nectar mattress, both of them. I couldn't take it no more, we had another name brand mattress prior to the Nectar. I read these reviews and we figured wth, got the mattress, felt hard at first, but when I laid on it, I felt the comfort from head to ankles (just felt it huge me) now I am 250 lbs. Wife 130 lbs. She did not like it right off the bat, but within no time, she loved it as much as me. This is friggin amazing!!! The price can't be beat, when we get extra money, getting another queen for our guest room . When I say, we went through at least 6 mattresses in 6 years, that is not a lie ( we felt like we were in the mattress business (giving a couple away and returning others). Buy this, give it a little time, you will love it as we do. ... show more

Item Thickness: 10 Inches Size: Full
Bought this mattress once. Moved. Bought it again. When I need to replace my mattress again, I'll buy it a third time. It doesn't trap much heat, stays super soft and comfy for years despite the abuse my pets and I put it through. I'm hypermobile and it doesn't create a bunch of pressure points or torque my joints all weird. Made the back pain so much better. Also much easier to clean than any spring mattress. Takes forever to dry, but still easier and doesn't stink after dumping water on it. ... show more
