These locks are pretty similar in design and function to numerous others on the market. You'll find that these are pretty much clones of dozens of others available on Amazon. For the roughly $9 price for each one of these I feel they're a decent value. These are cruder than some and more precise than others. The most important thing to know is that if you don't follow the instructions properly to set the combination then you will ruin the lock and have a paperweight. It's not necessarily difficult, but if you do the steps in the wrong order then you'll lock it shut forever. The quality is decent and these hold up fine for a few years, although they can swell or constrict depending upon really hot or cold weather. I like these because I can set the combo the same on all of them, put them on all my doors or gates, and then I can open them whenever I like without having to carry keys around. These locks are OK, but if someone really wants in then they can probably pry these apart with a fair amount of effort, however you can say that with any lock. These aren't for everyone, but they're probably fine for most people. I like them because I'm familiar with them, I don't need multiple keys, and these will usually last for at least several years before you have any issues. If you need heavy duty locks for extremely valuable items then by all means buy high-end precision locks and install cameras, but if you just need to secure a few doors or gates around your farm or other property then these are worth your consideration. ... show more

I was a bit worried getting these with some of the 1 star comments, but these have worked great so far. I used them to lock my cargo trailer. I set the code following the simple instructions. It opens and closes easily using the black knob thing. It's easy to use and I don't have to carry a key. These have been through a few severe rain storms and continue to work properly. About as weak is it gets for a lock of this style. It was working and all of a sudden the combination stoped working so I basically twisted it off after getting bolt cutters hooked to them instead of having to cut it The thick shackle pretty much bent to where I could get it off with these.
