This Blue Planet II Atlantic edition is a masterpiece of design and sustainability. The recycled titanium case is ultra-light and incredibly strong, and the finish has a sleek matte tone that contrasts beautifully with the vibrant blue dial. The dial itself resembles a satellite image of the Earth, and the rotating globe feature never stops catching people’s attention. The luminous details are subtle but extremely effective. In low light or at night, the glowing ring and indicators are easy to read but not overwhelming. The fluororubber strap is soft, very durable, and comfortable for all-day wear, even if you are active or sweat a lot. It has that luxury sport watch feel but with an eco-conscious story behind it. It winds effortlessly and keeps time well. I have worn this in casual and dressy settings and it fits right in both. This is one of those watches that makes you feel like you are wearing something special and meaningful, not just another accessory. I was really taken by the story behind its design and the innovation in watchmaking. I love a good story when it comes to watches. This watch was a huge step forward in establishing China's brand identity, winning the CPHG award in 2021. That is what captured my attention, but living with it is another matter. There are plenty of other reviewers who have described this watch in great depth and this review will be short and focus on the practical. While it is a beautiful watch with a unique movement, it is not a watch per se-it is an art installation on your wrist. It is what I love about it, but it is also what keeps me from wearing it often. It is too big, too bulbous, and hard to read-even at 46 mm. The readability is both the unique movement and small numbers with too many indices. The other issue is the band. While it is a good, it doesn't unify the design. I suspect this iteration from the original is a victim of its own success. The original design looks more balanced and harmonious. The success invited more input of wanting more readability and to make it more curvaceous. They also made the bezel thinner and it makes the watch seem a lot larger. I have an 8" wrist and it feels like a small saucer on my wrist. I bought the titanium Atlantic version and it's pretty light despite the size. I decided I'll keep it and hopefully the new watch strap will bring a greater harmony. For those of you looking for a practical watch, this is not it. This is a weekend whimsical and relaxed watch. I'm keeping relaxed time since it's really not intuitive to glance to get the time like a regular watch. It seems to keep decent time, but I found a couple of times it was off by a minute. I'm not sure it's the best movement and will likely face challenges with serviceability in the future being a novel movement. It is an excellent concept watch, but for $1500 after taxes, I have a bit of buyer's remorse. It is a beauty and the detailing on the land topography is stunning. The case is finely polished, although I'm less enthused about the watch band. I think the original brushed stainless steel case of the original is a better match. The highly polished titanium is lovely, but it feels like it's trying to be dressier than the watch design calls for. I love the concept and design and kudos to the designer for his success. I suggest sticking to the original if you are a collector. This was not the model that won the CPHG award in 2021, it is the successor shaped by consumer input. Update: I got a padded watchband in grey sailcloth, which gave it a nautical feel. It really unified the look and now I'm getting used to telling the time. 46 mm is still a bit large, but now I have grown to appreciate it. Is it worth $1500 plus tax? Maybe? Mechanical watches, especially new bold designs, are hardly practical purchases. I give it a cautious 4 stars, as this watch is for collectors and those who like unique designs. ... show more

Invicta has the exact same dials. Im not sure about build quality with this watch but if you’re looking for a style like this, but don’t want to pay this premium price, go check out invictas watches. I own the moon invicta and not saying it’s a bad watch at all but the price is hefty for sure

I appreciate the message that this watch sends about eco-friendliness. I do not appreciate, however, how it is so user "unfriendly" specifically because we cannot change the timing, which is off by a little bit.
