Was looking to replace my old firepit that just stopped working and came across this one. I didn’t want to spend a lot so I was at first attracted to the price. The size was perfect and exactly what I needed for my outdoor space. It’s got a great heat output and the style compliments my patio furniture nicely. This comes shipped in a box and requires assembly but it’s so easy to put together. Instructions are clearly written and easy to read. I put it together by myself, closely following the directions and it took about 45 minutes. Once built, it’s a pretty solid piece, does not look or feel cheap. I wanted to give 5 stars but I’m giving 4 because it was so difficult to light. I read the users manual and it was not helpful. It mentioned something about removing and then putting back the battery on the igniter. I was so confused because the manual that came in the box with the pit made absolutely no mention of a battery. I also read the Amazon reviews, searching for any helpful tips but was still not able to resolve my issue. It was frustrating and I was so worried I’d have to take it apart and send back for a replacement. I ended up calling Amazon service and was connected to the manufacturer. Luckily they were able to help me. Turns out the igniter on this pit is a little weird and it’s made like that purposely , kind of like a safety feature/child proof. When lighting, turn it halfway to the left (counter clockwise) until you hear the click, and then you push the knob in and and hold it down for a few seconds and sure enough, it ignites!!! I feel like this info should be included in the product description and also in the users manual. ... show more

We are a retired couple who need to be outside and away from the television so we purchased a 28 inch Ciays firepit to put on our open deck. We had it delivered three days after the purchase and found the firepit was well packaged with very good assembly instructions. The assembly was very easy after having read the instructions and the firepit looked great. put the thing together and that wasn’t too terrible. one of the panels was kinda warped so it was important not to tighten everything until it was put together. got the propane tank connected and my lava rocks situated and it appeared no propane was flowing. i could see the spark but it would not light. i called the support number and spoke to a guy that had me press and turn the knob to the left and hold it for 5 seconds and i might have to do this a few times but it still did not light. he then suggested it was a bad regulator and they could sent a replacement table top but they were back ordered and it would be a month plus before they could get one to me and therefore suggested i submit a replacement request through amazon. i did do this but started looking at videos on regulator issues. i tried some of those things but still got no fire. propane regulators aren’t that expensive so i started looking at those. not sure what specs i need in my replacement so I’ll be calling support tomorrow to see if they can help me there. if i can prevent taking the tabletop off that would be ideal. and it’s going to take a week before the replacement fire pit arrives. stay tuned for an update. update: the connector on the fire pit is 1/4” and the connector on the replacement regulator is 3/8” it seems. keep that in mind if you have to replace the regulator. i’m in the process of getting a fitting that adapts the sizes. will update in a few days. update 2: the replacement regulator didn’t work. never heard the gas hissing when i turned the knob. today the replacement fire pit came. it was pretty easy to swap out the tops. connected the propane tank and still nothing. i took the propane tank off my grill and put the new tank on there and it took a minute to get that working. but the tank did put out the gas. then i took the old tank and connected it to the fire pit. first thing i noticed was the sound of the gas hissing even though the initial spark didn’t light it. you have to push in the knob and turn it all the way to the left and hold it for five seconds and try the igniter again. sure enough it works. wish it would have worked the first time. trying to repack that box wasn’t very fun either. ... show more

Overall I absolutely love this it is very sturdy that appearance is very elegant all the parts were there assembling it the instructions could be better you have to really really pay attention it probably took me in my 13 year old daughter about an hour we did take a break after messing it up my advice is to go and do exactly what the instructions say or find a good YouTube video be patient it's not that hard to assemble like I said it's just the instructions screwdriver will be your best friend in this Assemble ... show more

This took some time but was easy to put together. And after getting a new propane tank installed, it worked as advertised. I did get some colored fire glass to replace the bland lava rock that was included though. I had to match the color scheme of my house after all. If you're looking for a nice, small-ish firepit, consider this one. I do recommend getting a cover to keep out the riffraff. Get some water in the tub and there will be some issues when the thing fires-up... ... show more

Looks great and puts off enough warmth. I wish the bottom storage was just a little wider to make getting the propane tank in and out easier. I purchased color fire glass to elevate the look instead of just using the plain lava rocks it came with.

Easy to set up. Took me, alone, about 1 hour to put together. Instructions were easy to follow. And it started right up on the first try. I did buy some blue glass beads to use instead of the lava rock that comes with it. Also bought a cover for it which I think will help keep it in great shape over time.
