Read the instructions first. I notice some of the bad reviews was because the instructions were not followed. 1. Do not cut the thick zip tie until after you install it. If you do the gate will look bent and defective. The adjustment bolts will push the gate into proper alignment. 2. To open gate you need to slide the latch with your thumb to disengage the top part of the gate and then lift up on the gate to disengage the bottom part of the gate. If you do not lift up on the gate the bottom part will not disengage from the from the fence part of the gate. Someone reviewed this gate and showed how it wouldn't open with out lifting up on the gate, They left a bad review just because they didn't read the instructions. ... show more

I installed this gate at the bottom of my stairs to keep my pets from going upstairs when I'm not home. My dog gets extremely nervous during storms and will relieve herself at the top of the stairs and that's not unacceptable, nor is crating her throughout the day. The gate was easy to install and, after some adjusting, fits the space perfectly. Now if I can find a way to keep her out of the trashcan.... ... show more

Works very good and has a cool alarm on it lol. My dogs jump all over it and it hasn't budged. I did install it then way the instructions say to and its very sturdy. It also has a spring so it shuts by itself.

I used this for my 2yr idk not to get into the kitchen. Super helpful and even my son asks “open” and it’s so easy to open for us adults. Though sometimes the things come loose that keeps it to the wall Toddler jerking on it everyday ofc it will do that especially with adults tripping over the step in the middle. (We forget sometimes) So definitely check here and there for sturdiness! I’ve had it for two months now? About? I will be ordering more and I’ve already recommended this to family and friends. :) $50 for this is pretty good! ... show more

Nice and sturdy. It was easyto install and I would've given it 5 stars except the top does not connect as shown in the pic. Luckily you have to also lift to open it so it still works against the dogs.
