At first, I didn't realize it was polymer clay and not play dough. I bought this set for my five-year-old daughter because she loves sculpting. I'm going to say I won't be buying regular play dough again. Polymer clay is perfect for both adult and child-sized creative projects. Whether you plan to use it for crafts and then oven-dry it, or just sculpt like regular play dough, this material is perfect for both. Unlike regular play dough, polymer clay doesn't dry out; you can safely leave it on the counter for several days and it will retain its color and softness without drying out. You can take the pieces apart and mold them into something new. And if you want to make your creations last forever, 15 minutes in the oven at 260°C will harden them and allow you to use them as decorative elements or play with them as toys.

Love the variety of colors and tools that came with this clay starter kit. There are so many colors to choose from, I will probably be purchasing another set at some point, but for now this is the perfect amount to get started with. Such a fun activity. However, the clay is a bit hard, so I would recommend using a clay softener to save some time. But still possible to work with without the softener. I do wish the starter kit included a softener and gloss to put over the clay (just looks better with that in my option). After baking the clay, everything came out just as expected!

Works as advertised! It’s malleable and works well with all sculpting projects! We have had fun building our own little creations with it and it sticks well with itself! Just use a wax paper base with it because the clay itself is messy! It is fun and suitable for kids, they can make what they want as long as the clay doesn’t touch itself at the wrong time!

Fun start for Beginners

From my wife's perspective: My experience: I'm new to polymer clay and this product was a start as I didn't want to buy and ruin expensive clay. I must say I started just like any other beginner making fun crafts with it but my husband was instantly impressed as I guess I have a certain flair for clay. I started small and ended up using an entire block of clay to make something unique. Quantity: This is definitely more than a good amount of clay for a start and its been six months and they're still in good condition. Believe it or not I still have about 10-12 blocks still unused after 40-50 creations.(note: good condition provided they're properly stored and closed from any exposure when not in use). Quality: Some colors are a bit oily so I use corn flour to reduce the stickiness or if they're dry I just mold them for a few secs-mins till they soften. So far I wouldn't say they're ready out of the pack but definitely workable after molding. I used Sculpey glaze to finish the product and it seems to work. I also used some pastels and glitter and it worked just fine. You can check out the images for an idea. Oven safe: They can definitely be baked in the oven at the temperature mentioned on the packaging. I use a foil box with a foil lid to avoid any toxins getting out inside the oven as we use it for food baking as well. It takes me about 15mins to bake and they're pretty solid once out. Issues: They are not ready out of the pack like other expensive clays although this is not a real problem for me. Just putting it out there for those who need this. I did have some breakage issues which I fixed using clay glue but I wouldn't recommend this if you're selling them. I used most of mine to gift them (fridge magnets as they have minimal usage). I had some color transfer issues as some of the darker colors seem to wear off on the lighter colors over time (say after a month or so). Overall I enjoyed my beginner experience with this product as it's definitely worth the money it comes for. I guess it's time to move on to better products out there that are made for selling. I wanted to start making magnets and earrings as a new hobby to fill my time. This kit came with plenty of colors and tools and the clay was super easy to work with. I’ve never used polymer clay before. I had a lot of fun making these and can’t wait to see what else I can make.

Works well but wouldn't buy again

The color bleeds really bad onto your hands and supplies. It bakes really well. Fairly soft and super flexible but almost a little too soft. Didn't have a bad smell.
