The zipper works smoothly and the child can zip themselves up. This 2mm size is good for summer use especially early summer with water temperatures still feeling chilly. So the difference is that she was shivering the da before without the wet suit but was able to handle the water the next day with the wet suit with no chills. To care for it you must hand wash and line dry only. But it does dry quickly. Didn’t notice any lingering smells after the first wash. I would recommend ordering based on which ever is the largest, chest, waist or height, so its not too snug.

My daughter is 80-85 lbs and 4’10 at 10 yrs old. The XXL fits her perfectly. It was hard to judge what size to get but stick with the chart - it seemed pretty accurate. The material is very thick and soft neoprene. Zipper is great and sturdy - my daughter has worn it twice and is very happy with it. Keeps her warmer in our frigid waters

The suit is very comfrotable for my son! It fits and it fits well! The suit does gives some nice voyance and feels amazing! It is not as thick as what i am accustomed to but it does just as well. I really love the suit and we will be using it every single occasion we get! the boyanceee just feels right not heavy not light its just perfect how 3 mm shoudl feel! I love it ! The zipper quality is amazing as well!

I recently compared wetsuits and found that there are 3mm or thicker options available on Amazon. While I don't have much experience with wetsuits myself, I bought this for my son and found that the cut design is good, allowing him to move freely. The 2mm thickness didn't cause any issues for us, although it might be different in extreme temperatures. However, for summertime use, I don't think there will be any problems. The zipper is smooth and doesn't jam. The front opening design makes it easier for my son to put it on and take it off.

I ordered the Chriffer Kids Wetsuit Shorty Wet Suit for my son. He did not care for the neckline, he complained that it choked him. He as worn other wet suits and has no problem with the neck. It also runs big which made it slightly loose on him.

Got this for our young grandson ... his dad loves surfing, and the little guy wants to start getting in the water just like his dad. Not quite ready for surfing, but ready to start learning about and respecting the ocean. The water off the Central CA coast is cold (at least to me), so this will help him stay a little warmer while he's splashing around in the ocean water. Sizes seem to run a little a little small, but luckily there are a couple other grandkids that will be able to use this suit by the time he grows out of it. The seams appear to be done well, no loose stitching. The all important zipper goes up/down smoothly. Little dude loves it, and loves looking like his dad in the suit.

This wet suit for my son is a little snuggly, and I wish I had gotten a size up. It also smells horrible. I have washed it twice now and am planning to wash it one more time because the rubber smell is so strong. I don't know anything about wet suits so I have no idea if they usually smell like. It does seem thick and well-made, and I think it will keep him warm in the cold lake we like to visit.

I purchased the large for my ten-year-old child, who often wears a smaller size. The fit is around a size 10. I recommend washing it as soon as you get it as it does have a strong odor. Besides trying to guess the best size to buy this is not a bad wetsuit.
