My cat loves these type of toys that dangle off a door and allow him to jump and grab them. It seemed messy and overly complicated to fill the tiny chirping button at the bottom with the included catnip, so I skipped that step. My cat smelled the catnip in the closed box and just plays with the box it came in instead. I didn't use the suction cup and just tied the cable to a hook instead. I did need to experiment with the right type of knot to use, as just looping the cable through the leaf wasn't secure enough and my can would pull it off the wall. Once I got that dialed in, it is a lot of fun for him. While there is a button for the chirping at the bottom of the toy, it actually starts twittering when anyone walking by accidently bumps it or I pull on the string to play with my cat. It makes me smile when I hear it chirping randomly throughout the day. Good times.

I received this and the sound barely worked. This one was apparently deffective. There were no instructions on how to attach the elastic cord and the sunction cup did not work on any of my surfaces. I was too lazy to send it back so just kept it.

I don't like the feathers on it's tail I cut them of. I had another cat in the past choke on one and died instantly. Cat toys should not come with feathers. I don't like the suction cup attachment either. Not practical for hanging from a doorway. They don't stick to wooden surfaces. And there is no room on the bottom of the bird to pour catnip in. I tried but couldn't get the plug bak in and I only poured a tiny amount the size of my pinky nail. But other than that my cat loves it.

I don't know anything about this bird chirping because it's totally silent. The cord comes off the hanger easily when the cat pulls the bird all the way to the floor and it bounces back up, but he's willing to play with it on the floor, too.

I have an open floorplan loft with orange-peel textured walls, so I didn't even have a place to try the suction cup, so you should rely on other reviews for that. I used a command strip on the end of the loft, and that worked fine. Cat played with the toy a lot the first 15 minutes or so after I put it up, but quickly lost interest in playing with it while it was hanging. I tried putting it away for a week and reintroducing it, but she remembered that she found it boring. It now lives untethered in the toybox, where it gets some play if it goes off squeaking when she is picking something to play with, but it isn't big enough for kickies, isn't small enough for use as a cat fishing lure, and isn't as floppy as the floppy fish toy that also goes off when she is looking for a toy to play with. This brand has a toy with a spinning silicone tail that is one of her favorites, but this specific bird toy just didn't hit as well.
