We have a chicken coop with a sand floor. This scoop works perfectly for keeping the floor clean for our birds. It's just like a cat-box scooper....only bigger. There are only two things I do not like about it. 1. I am just under 6ft tall so the handle is a little short for me which makes me have to stand bent-over more than I'd like. 2. It serves its purpose but is very cheaply built and it is not very ergonomic as the head is in a straight line with the handle so you need to bend over to do any scooping. Probably wouldn't purchase again.
