This is surprisingly strong glue. I have used it on numerous items besides shoes. It has saved me from having to throw away a couple of pairs of shoes since it bonds the heel and sides of the shoes permanently. It even worked well on my running shoes, which take a daily beating.

Edited to add: I have changed my rating to 4 stars. My views on the product remain the same, but the customer service is excellent! They reached out to me to offer a resolution and made it clear that I did not have to change my feedback. They wanted to make it right with no expectations of me changing my view. So, due to customer service, I am changing from 2 starts to 4 stars. ** NOTE** The spots that are messed up on the strap of the shoe are from having glue on my fingers. It just pulled the pleather off. I do not like this at all. When I saw the bottles I could tell right away that it was more like sure glue than what I thought shoe glue would be. I got some on my fingers and it felt like super glue, but was not strong enough to bond them together. So I worry that the strap of my shoe will just pop out again. And, it dries shiny and hard. It works, but I thought it would be more like a rubber cement and it is more like super glue. I would have prefered something more flexible. So if your need is rigid, this is a good product.
