Knitting was beginning to be painful due to age, arthritis, etc., so I was interested in trying square needles to see if they would help alleviate some of the strain. I tried them in another brand and they were great, however, I'd invested so much in Chiaogoo interchangeable that I didn't want to buy more needles AND cables. I'm sooo glad I found these! I just bought the 5" US8 set to use on my current project. What a difference these quad needles made! My hands are much happier now. I love the Chiaogoo brand. Right now, the needles are sold individually but perhaps the company will sell them in sets in the future. My one note of caution is it appears that my yarn can slip off more easily on these needles. It's not been a problem for me but just wanted to note it for any knitters who find this to be a problem. Now that I know how these needles feel, I'll buy ones in other sizes. These new needles are awesome! I really like the satin finish and rounded corners, and here is why: I’m blind in one eye, and shiny needles tend to reflect light in ways that distract my vision. I have been balancing the contrast of the yarn and different needles to reduce eye strain, but these quads are so useful I have been using them almost exclusively. The square shape provides a small, clean reflection of light that provides needed contrast for the stitches sitting on the needle. There is just enough grip in the satin finish, but yarn still moves easily for speed knitting. Please make sizes below US 3, and start doing kits! Double pointed quads would be cool. ... show more

These needles glide through the yarn. The square shape only shows itself in my fingers where I feel a good grip. Lightweight and smooth! I love these needles!

    • Disappointed in the lack of pain relief

They are supposed to be more ergonomic. I don’t have any less pain in my hands than with the round versions. Might be more comfortable for larger size needles, however I only purchased 3.5 mm as that is my most used size. If nothing else, I have a second set of 3.5 mm.
