I travel often for work and I found the perfect item to take with me when I travel. I never know if I’m going to straighten or curl my hair, but I no longer have to pack a curling wand and a flat iron, I got this all in one and it takes half the space as 2 items. Likes: used along with the Chi Silk product it straightened and curled my hair and my daughters hair beautifully and it lasted for days which does not usually happen with other flat irons. They were telling the truth about the benefits of using ceramic tourmaline floating plates. With other irons the curls would droop within the hour and the hair would appear dry and thirsty. So, I was surely pleased with the styling outcome! Dislikes: the handling! It was quite difficult and frustrating to maneuver the Chi 3-in-one iron without constantly hitting the on/off button and settings button. I literally had to readjust the settings or turn it back on after every curl. It was a really poor choice of placement for the buttons and the buttons are very sensitive to the touch. In addition, the curl feature did not quite work the way I anticipated. The curls you see in my daughters hair was just by using the smooth feature and by maneuvering the iron in the same manner as any other basic flat iron. For us, the curl feature was useless. Therefore, I probably could have saved money and just bought the original Chi ceramic tourmaline flat iron for about $20-$30 less. But because of the awkward buttons, I struggled to decide between 3 or 4 stars. ... show more

I am no expert in curling my hair but this curling iron works very well. I've had a Chi flat iron for years and was happy with it but since I've never gotten the curling with flat iron down, I gave this a try. If I had more experience with hair I'd probably be able to do a lot with it, but I do sometimes wish I had gotten a Chi curling iron to manage it better as a beginner. Overall though It heats up fast, curls evenly and leaves hair shiny and bouncy not fried looking. I can definitely tell the difference between this and a cheap drugstore curling iron. ... show more

    • Not worth the money
I bought this chi straighter when we moved and I thought we lost my no namer straighter. I thought I would give it a try, but this straighter is not even worth the 1 star. It doesn't get hot enough to straighten my hair like my cheapy other on did and thankfully we found the other one and I use that on instead of this name brand Chi. I would return it for my money back if I still had the packaging! ... show more

    • Perfect for medium thick hair.
I bought this iron after using my sister in laws, and I needed a new iron after having the same one from High-school that was 10 years go. My hair is dyed so the texture at my ends are thick and I struggle with dye damaged hair and my hair is naturally wavy and straight. The iron straightens my hair with no tugging and I don’t feel like it’s over heated I had it at 340 and that’s with medium thick hair and it will last three days being straight. My hair feels silky when I use this iron, the curling part works for my hair but does take time I will be using my curing wand for curls just cuz it’s faster but I can use the iron for travel and not have to bring my wand and other hair tools. ... show more
