I had the older model of this straightener for 14 years. It was very similar to this and I loved it. I never had issues and it lasted so long. When mine finally died it was only because something got dripped on the plug and it broke. My friend recommended the Lange brand to me and I tried it, immediately could tell it wasn’t like what I was use to with my CHI. I returned that one and immediately ordered this. It is so smooth, my hair is silky and feels great. It glides over your hair like butter. Love the digital temperature it saves my last used temperature setting as well. When you turn it on, it shows the temp you’ve saved and heats up within seconds. It beeps when ready, I love that! Also cools down quickly. I’m so happy they’re still make such wonderful products. I liked that this iron had multiple temp settings and it heated quickly. I didn't like that Chi seems to have poor quality control. I opened the box, took the iron out, and saw a chip on the top of one of the ceramic plates, so deep you can see the silver meshing underneath. It's hard to show with myolder phone camera but you can see it in the picture. I debated returning it and decided I would because for such an expensive iron I would use daily, it should be more quality. I also didn't think it was that much better at straightening hair than my lesser branded flat iron. Overall, it did well, but not that well to keep it with a chip in the ceramic plate. ... show more

I had an original Chi that lasted me over 10 years. I loved it. It had a faulty wire so I tossed it and ordered this one. The buttons are on the inner part which is nice. At first I thought it was weird, but I actually really like it. The color is a beautiful red. It allows you to change the temperature. Whatever temp you had it set at when you turn it back on, it will automatically go back to that temp. I love that feature. I will never buy another brand. ... show more
