I just bought this to replace the exact same CHI that I bought 13 years ago for double the cost. It lasted and worked so well. I like it but there's no way to control the amount of heat you want. Basically it's one temperature and that would be HOT. I like it hot but it would be better if there was a selection. The one thing I don't like about it, there's no automatic shut off if you accidently leave it on. I left for the day (the entire day) and when I got home I could see a light coming from the flat iron and sure enough it was still on (over 4 hours). Overall it's great for the price ... show more

This is the second Chi straightner I’ve owned. Last one I had the on/off switch broke. But I had that one for over 15 years. The new one has a more “beefed” up switch. Doesn’t seem so flimsy. I like this straightner because it’s light and easy to handle. I only need one temperature for my hair. So I don’t need adjustable temperatures. Quality for the price. ... show more

I was wondering why this one was cheaper than the others, it’s because it doesn’t have a temperature dial, this one does not do well with extensions, I have tape pens, and it does not straighten them, do not recommend is it. It’s a decent pattern for regular hair, but I would not spend this kind of money on the sweater. ... show more

I bought another CHI straighter a month back it was wider and absolutely did not like it, I bought it needed to replace this CHI straighter wider isn’t always better, so when I saw this one on sale I had to get it, you plug in and turn on only 1 temp setting takes all the guess work out and the plates are just as smooth on my hair as my original one.
