I had the older model of this straightener for 14 years. It was very similar to this and I loved it. I never had issues and it lasted so long. When mine finally died it was only because something got dripped on the plug and it broke. My friend recommended the Lange brand to me and I tried it, immediately could tell it wasn’t like what I was use to with my CHI. I returned that one and immediately ordered this. It is so smooth, my hair is silky and feels great. It glides over your hair like butter. Love the digital temperature it saves my last used temperature setting as well. When you turn it on, it shows the temp you’ve saved and heats up within seconds. It beeps when ready, I love that! Also cools down quickly. I’m so happy they’re still make such wonderful products. I will always use CHI! If you’re wondering if this is a good straightener, it’s the best! ... show more

I have used my old Remington flat iron for 2 years and it died on me. I used my friends CHI on vacation and was impressed by the quality, hers is 5-6 years old. CHI was recommended me to by several friends because of the quality and long lasting use. I love that this flat iron is dual voltage for travel. I ordered the CHI original and CHI G2 To compare, the only difference I noticed is the G2 has an 11 ft cord and the original has a 6.. I prefer the shorter cord. Also the G2 has color coded settings which I don’t believe is necessary- it’s just a selling point. Both flat irons heat up fast and work great however I chose to keep the original because it is a ceramic plate which is less damaging to hair over time. The G2 has titanium infused plates which can be drying and damaging to hair. My one complaint would be that I wish it had a lock feature for storage. I did reorder this on target because it was $50 cheaper… Overall I am happy with the CHI and looking forward to getting a lot of use out of it! ... show more

Most of the time I give up the fight and let my hair stay in it's naturally curly/wavy nature, and other times I want it smooth up in a ponytail, or clipped back from my eyes. Those days I want it more smooth and sleek this comes to my aid. I usually use some form of heat protection spray before I straighten with this. It is easy to use and I really like that it has adjustable temperatures and an auto shut off. I love this straightener. I love that I can control the temperature, which you can’t on other styles. It doesn’t catch my hair and gets plenty hot very fast. It’s easy to use for multiple styles (curl, wave, straight). Looks sleek and my toddlers haven’t broken it. This is a great straightener for the price.
