I bought this to replace my 2nd herstyler straightener. I have VERY frizzy hair, which is fairly wavy and curly in spots. So, I straighten my hair both to leave straight, and to re-curl. So, I wanted a straightener that could curl as it straightens like my other one did to minimize the heat I put on it. Pic on the left is after 10 minutes of straightening/curling lightly. Pic on the right is my ridiculously frizzy hair combed out during air drying beforehand. This works great. It glides super smooth through my hair--much better than the her styler, has automatic shutoff--which is huge for me, and has a more rounded body so when I curl it doesn't crimp or leave marks in my hair. I was worried it would feel cheap, but it definitely doesn't. It isn't as "thick and sturdy" as the her styler, but is also not as heavy which is a plus. I like the long plates, dial, etc. I wish it went just a bit hotter, but after a couple of weeks using it, I'm getting used to going slightly slower and having the 410 temp which is probably better for my hair. It curls really nicely. I had to adjust my technique just a bit from my other straightener, but once I figured out how much to twist and how slow to pull, I'm really happy with it. I don't smell that "burn" smell that some people have mentioned. Maybe just a touch, but fairly minimal. Oh, and I really like how it feels in my hand. Its a good shape. Chord is perfect length--not too long, not too short. And, the heat resistent pad to set it on is a bonus, though it doesn't really lay flat.

I've had the same CHI straightener for 8 years and it finally stopped working. Ordered a new one here and it works great! Came with a little bag to wrap it in as well for storage.

Heats up very quickly and great to use. The issue I have is the temperature dial moves very easily, and the temperature ends up changing every time I use it. The dial is on the side right where you hold onto it. I would not buy this design again.

I had the same chi for about 15 years and the only reason it broke is because I dropped it. This works great and I love that it has the auto shut off so I no longer have to call my husband on my way to work and ask him to double check that I unplugged my straightener! Looking forward to hopefully having this chi for the next 15 years.

I have been using a cheap straightener for years and it finally died. I have been wanting a Chi but didn’t want to spend Chi kind of money. Got a good deal on Amazon and am so glad. It is night and day different. Hair is smooth and shiny with less frizz. Heats up really quickly.
