I got the model with a camera. It was an amazing bargain for what it can do. It's a coaxial copter, so there no roll-left or roll-right capability. The only way to correct a slow drift left or right is to point (yaw) the copter to correct it. That said, it's quite reasonably stable in hands-off hover. It's also very stable and easy to fly in motion. It uses an external battery, so flight time is longer than those with a built-in battery. Plus, you can buy more batteries and not have to wait for a recharge for multiple flights. it worked pretty well the first day but we tried to fly it on the second day and the app did not work we said ok and flew it anyways but then the controller was somehow not connect anymore it flew on its own right into a tree and to this day it is stuck there.Bur after they were good about it and gave me a full refund. ... show more

The reason I give it 3 stars is as follows: My brother ordered this helicopter and within 5 mins of operating in ended up in the lake lost to the deep. MAKE SURE TO READ THE INSTRUCTIONS ON OPERATING AND DONT FLY HIGH UNTIL YOU HAVE FULL CONTROL. The device itself seems cool and the ability to take pics and video would have been awesome. The 2 vidoes that were actually saved where cool with pretty decent quality. So in conclusion I can't really rate it on performance and quality without having used it more than 5 mins. I just wanted to come on here and warn others after my brothers unfortunate event. Hopefully none of the other purchasers go through this. He is so upset right now, dont want others to experience the same. Good luck ... show more

I got this for my son and even though it comes with extra blades and he crashes it all the time, the blades have never broke! The camera is aiight, especially for a 6 year old and the syncing to the phone is pretty easy. The battery is so tiny and for the first few months did fine and got the expected life. A year later and the battery charge only lasts about 2 min. But we have gotten a lot of enjoyment out of it and maybe need to upgrade. ... show more

    • Battery Lasts for 6 Minutes!

My child and I were so excited to play w/ this toy quadcopter drone. We charged the helicopter battery until the light was green and I input four new Energizer batteries into the controller. We loved it! While in the middle of my little one learning how to steer, the handheld device/controller starting beeping loudly. After some confusion, we realized the alert was stating that the battery was low. My first thought was that the AA batteries were duds; we replaced them. The helicopter flew but just barely - no altitude, slow response to commands, etc. I had us pause so that I could review the instruction manual - it gave a range of possible causes for our issues. I then did some research online regarding the helicopter battery. My exact question to Google was, "how long does a 3.7v, 350mAh battery last?" The responses all said one would be lucky if 10 minutes were had - specifically, it would last around 6 minutes - meaning, you have 6 minutes to use the drone before the battery completely dies. This was definitely our experience. I'm so not happy. Why on Earth would a toy/tech maker utilize a battery that only lasts 6 minutes? That amount of time can not possibly be enjoyable for anyone of any age. Also - the same '6 minutes of action battery' literally takes ****an hour**** to charge. Suggestions to @cheerwing: Let customers know this up front. And, I understand cost-benefit, etc. but I think most would agree that we'd be willing to pay around $15 more for an included battery that lasts at least 30 minutes. We just found a $20 helicopter (sans camera option) on Walmart's site that lasts for 40 minutes. Ha. Anyways, going to go research an upgraded battery for this thing now. ... show more

Let’s just say that my 3.5 yo son flies this better than his mama…it’s entertaining. He loves this helicopter and will be buying another one, as this one is stuck high in a tree. Yes, we are those people.
