not a bad little hammer, but one must be very careful with it to not hit anything hard- as in harder than the copper or zinc or other soft metal you are working. One hit on steel and it damaged the face.

Call me silly but if you put up a picture of an item the item I buy should look like the picture. This one looks like one of the $8.99 specials. Handle is slippery so I painted it with a textured paint and that helped a lot. I am not a jeweler, I use it for working with leather because the face is nice and clean and so is round end on the back side. It helps me pound down thread and mold wet holster. ... show more

This items is lightweight and it took 20(twenty) attempts to flatten a 20 gauge wire. I ended up just using a regular hammer. What a waste for the money, Needless to say it will be returned.

    • Not domed, completely flat face
The large hammer face is completely flat with sharp edges. Was hoping to have a bit of a dome, as was indicated by other reviewers and the image on the site. Very difficult to use without leaving tool marks.

This is a nice little Domed Faced Hammer. Polished nicely, and a nice little polished ball opposite the face. Keeper!

Looks like good quality but did not recieve with the darker wood handle that is pictured. Im just hoping it is a hardwood that will last, and hope its not a cheap wood that will break on me. 11” in total length.

    • Small & Light but Long and Workable
I'm an ameture and it works great for me! It's a terrific little light weight instrument that doesn't mar my copper experiments at all. A handle that makes it easy to learn how to manage the tool.
