this blanket is very soft and warm. I like it. Except for one thing, it sheds the fleece. I washed it and put it to fluff dry. The hem has fleece erupting all over it. I then ran it again just to fluff it. More. I have fluffed it 3 times and no end in sight. I washed some clothes and put them in the dryer with the dry blanket on fluff. I have the fleece pills all over the other clothes as well. ... show more

    • Dry on Air Fluff setting - with two large DRY towels
Beautiful, soft blanket. I see some reports of pilling, and I have to ask if these blankets were washed or dried with other items that have zippers or buttons. The instructions say "line dry." Yeah that's not going to happen here. I washed and dried this before putting on the bed, and it ended up in exactly the same condition, like it was pulled fresh from the package. Air Fluff, drying without any heat whatsoever, doesn't quite dry anything fully - so I added two large, clean DRY towels. When the cycle was done, the blanket was COMPLETELY DRY. The towels, however, were ever so slightly damp, because they absorbed all the water. The towels, of course, you can dry as normal. So don't let "line dry" discourage you. And yeah, never wash or dry this kind of material with anything that has any hard edges whatsoever like buttons, zippers, rhinestones etc. No problem! ... show more

I love this blanket! It's the right thickness for the fall/winter. I've washed it several times and it still looks as good as new. Very soft, and sooooooooooo worth it.

    • Softest blanket ever
It is a little large so if you don't have a large washer it can be hard to get it cleaned but fortunately I do. This has got to be one of these softest blankets I own and I literally search for super super soft materials for everything. When my granddaughter used to get fussy if you could find something soft to put against her face for her to cuddle with she would immediately stop and typically either cuddle or fall asleep. This one has been absolutely terrific it is a little large for wrapping her up in but it still works I just wrap it around the both of us or we crawl up on my bed and let her pull it up all around her as much as she can. When she's not here I typically end up having to fight my puppy for it it's become my favorite blanket to sleep with and that says a lot. ... show more

The blanket is lightweight and soft like I wanted, but it smelled like chemicals. I tried fabric Fabreze but that only helped a little bit. I finally had to wash it - directions said to hang to dry (not sure where I was going to do that?), so I put it in the dryer on low. No more smell, but I do think it shrunk a bit. ... show more

Checks MOST of the boxes. It is soft, durable (for context I have only washed once), warm and cozy, and thankfully doesn't she'd all over my clothes! My only complaint is the color. I ordered Dark grey and the blanket is clearly Navy Blue. I checked back to see if perhaps they shipped the wrong item but Navy Blue is not an option. Be aware that the colors may be off. As for the dark grey.... squint your eyes, close the blinds and turn off the lights, because that's the only way you will see dark grey. ... show more

I purchased this blanket to have as an extra for guests. I have owned and used Berkshire Blankets for a few years now. I bought this blanket because of the price and because it "looked" like a great blanket for the price! Well, I was pleasantly surprised when I opened itI It's such a nice well-made blanket. The nice stitching at the corners is especially nice. It arrived "expensively packaged" and it's much softer and more comfortable than my long-time Berkshires! I have washed it twice and it looks just like it did when it first arrived. I plan to order more as gifts for my family! You cannot go wrong with this blanket.
