Haven't been able to use the grill yet because we have so many problems with assembly. First, a large part was received damage. We recognize that these things happened and got up early to call Charbroil on a week day (because their customer support hours are beneficial for east coasters, not west coasters). Customer support was very nice and shipped us the item, but of course it didn't arrive in time for the weekend for us to continue assembly. Today we began assembling again (almost from the beginning) and had another problem - the parts don't appear to be damaged and we've double and triple-checked our assembly and it all seems to be lining up. However, the doors are way out of alignment and don't connect with the magnets. Charbroil's website said they were open until 8pm eastern on Saturdays, but when I called, they were closed. I attempted to chat online, but he said he can't assist me - I guess he's there for sales or useage questions only. His best suggestion, call again on Monday. So once again, we have to get up early and call and will probably have to wait 2 MORE weeks for parts. Char-Broil, not everyone lives on the East Coast - west coaster's grill, too! If all goes well at this point, we will be 6 weeks out from order to use. Update 10/23/16: Still do not have a working grill. As we received each piece that Char-Broil sent us we assembled it, only to find it just isn’t fitting together right. When we called for assistance, they always said, “We’ll send you a new part.” We almost have enough to build another grill! All that said, we still don’t have a working grill. The side burner doesn’t light, and the pieces just don’t line up (grill lids scrape together, doors below are very uneven, etc.) I’m not even sure what to do at this point, besides calling Char-Broil back tomorrow and asking them to send a whole new grill. So disappointed. BTW, we have had 5 people look at our assembly work and no one can see that we have assembled it wrong. It is just not engineered right. We are hoping it is limited to this one part and that Char-Broil sends a whole new set as requested. Update 11/12/16: Charbroil continued to send us parts and refused to send us a whole new grill because “that’s not how our warranty works.” Some of the parts they sent fixed the problem, suggesting that we were right – this unit was a lemon from the factory. One of the problems – lids that scraped as they opened – became a nightmare issue. They refused to send the fireboxes preassembled or any instructions but they said their customer service could help. It took 2 ½ hours (!!) to DISASSEMBLE the fireboxes, including electrical. Then we were left on our own to assemble everything with no schematic. We finally called Amazon, who has kindly offered to take it all back for a full refund. The amount of time Charbroil employees spent with us and cost of parts way exceeded what it would have cost them to buy a new grill. We are devastated that after all this time we have no grill and Charbroil will not make right a defective product.     • Good, but has some issues.

I purchased this grill when it was out of stock. I waited for the price to drop to the lowest I have seen, $292.00, then I submitted the purchase. Amazon doesn't charge you until the item ships. I was finally charged two weeks ago after about waiting about 3 months. The first grill I received was damaged. I called Amazon and they sent a replacement. Easy, no fuss.. no hassle. They set up the delivery of the new one and pick up of the damaged one. In total, it took about 4 days to get the replacement. So, I don't quite understand why some reviewers are having issues with their damaged grills. Just call Amazon and they'll take care of the issue. So, I built the replacement and noticed that the materials and craftsmanship of this grill is OK, not great. The metal is flimsy and some spot welds are weak. Some bolt and screw holes don't line up 100%, but I didn't need to re-drill them. I played a bit with the two joining pieces and managed to get the screw in with minimum effort. The charcoal tray that adjusts could use more time in the R & D department. As you raise the tray, it moves closer to the rear of the grill, leaving a good 6 inches or more of grill space without charcoal. I guess you can use this space as a warming spot.. I don't know, I'll try it out and see what works best. The paint on the grill is sub-par. If you dent it, the paint flakes off. Don't use regular flat black paint to patch up the paint.. Use High Temperature paint. The grill looks good when it is built. I could possibly get a good 3 - 5 years out of it. It's not a Weber, but overall it is a good combination of value (..at my purchase price) and convenience of use. I would not pay over $350 for this grill at this level of quality and craftsmanship.. ... show more

I’d give this a 5 but came dented and all the grates were broken. The seller refunded me enough so I could buy new grates. I thought that was fair of them. They didn’t give me a hard time about anything either. Easy to assemble and it functions just fine. For the money it’s worth it. The dents and dings were from the shipper obviously. So I’d recommend this seller. They were willing to take it back but I already had it put together. ... show more

    • Nice grill once you finally get to use it

I purchased this for my husband for Christmas. It weighs like 200 lbs (according to fedex guy) so he left it outside. we had a rough winter so I just got to open it a few weeks ago. Took everything out to start putting it together and in step 1 found that the holes were drilled wrong and they don't match up. I called Char-Broil and while on the phone also noticed that the left lid had been smashed in shipping. It was just a box in a box, no buffer. After several attempts Char Broil finally replaced the lid and the incorrectly drilled leg piece. These came in a giant box with tons of plastic air pillows. Took a total of 3 hours to assemble. The worst part was attaching the top to the base. You are doing blind holes so you just have to keep scooching it around until you find the right spot. Used the charcoal side last night and really like it, can't wait to use the gas as well. Lots of storage space on the bottom with doors to cover it. I gave it a 3 because of the difficulty putting it together and getting parts replaced. Carrier bent the box in several places, resulting in cosmetic damage to the grill. But it's still completely functional and we love the cooking options it has. Just wish the carrier would have not been so rough with it.
