Description
Chapin’s 98444 40-gallon spot sprayer, with added 2-nozzle boom, covers farmland, acreage, orchards, and gardens. The chemical-resistant seals handle fertilizers, herbicides, and general solutions. The 2.5 GPM diaphragm pump quick-connects to a 12V battery using a wiring harness with alligator clips. The 40-gallon translucent tank allows you to see the liquid level and you can quickly drain the tank with a 2-inch drain with built-in 3/4-inch port. Turn on the pump with the inline on/off toggle switch. The cushioned poly, shut- off, 20-inch extension wand, and 180-inch hose extends your spray reach. Easily switch back and forth from spot spray to the 2-nozzle boom. Chapin’s triple-filtration system reduces downtime from clogs in the hose and shut-off. Made in the USA with global materials and backed by Chapin’s 5-year limited warranty.

Spray boom requires additional parts not included to mount on your ATV or UTV

I bought the 40-gallon unit with the 2-nozzle spray boom for my Polaris UTV. No where is it mentioned that to use the spray boom, I would need to order and additional mounting bracket for my UTV. Overall, the quality is good except as mentioned in other reviews that the hose carrier is not mounted securely. I really, look forward to using when and if I find the additional mounting brackets for the boom.

Does Not Work Well As A Septic Tank
Size: 40 Gallon, 12V
Able to pressurize this tank with 120psi in order to spray gasoline and clear brush. I drilled a 5/8" hole on the top and inserted a standard tire valve stem. Doing this allows you to air up the tank to 120 psi. Filling the tank with 25 gallons of high octane gasoline will allow you to spray gasoline and set back fires to protect your home and property. You can shoot the gasoline up to 50' away and get the fire into the tops o the trees to burn out web worms. I don't recommend pressurizing the tank when filled with gasoline if you're in the city. The gasoline would probably cache the curtains inside your neighbor's home afire. T

Factory quality control and inspection not so good. Parts missing

Pretty disappointed with Chapin quality control. Ordered this for my atv. An additional Boom kit sold separately is also needed if that is even a universal kit, who even knows? I’ve got to do my own research to figure this out when they should just come up with an attachment that mounts directly to the tank like other manufacturers. The kit didn’t have the spray nozzle mounts to mount onto the tank. The plastic hose mount is mounted by self tapping screws instead of them using rubber grommets and locking nuts inside the tank. I now have a no rubber seals/grommets to go between the tank and plastic hose mount and the self tapping screws are eventually bound to wear out the plastic tank and the hose mount will fall off, when it could have just been added at the factory during pump installation. The wand mounts could have also been mounted at the factory during the pump installation. Again those aren’t even in the box at all for me to install. Quality control and inspection is definitely lacking at the factory! The boom needs to come with 90 degree bracket mounts at the very least to sit underneath the tank between the atv rack and tank so the boom system that came with the tank unit as a kit can be attached to the 90 degree brackets. The weight of the water/chemicals will at least hold the two brackets down in place. At the very least they could do is bend the brackets into a 90 degree at the factory to slide underneath the tank and between it and the rack of the atv instead of trying to sell a seperate third product that I don’t know will even fit my 2025 Yamaha Grizzly 700! Pictures for reference. Last pic only makes sense instead of the straight flat bars just put a 90 degree bend in them to slide between the tank and rack of the atv. To many degree holding pencil and pen pushers instead of the laborers common sense that would make sense. Clearly their engineers at chapin didnt think this one through. They just had extra money on their minds unless part number 6330 is universal fit for all atvs. I also want as very minimal holes in my frame and plastic on my atv as possible, as I’m sure many of us want to take care of a machine that costs most of us 10,000.00 + US dollars. I don’t exactly want to be drilling holes all in my arc plastic for a mount! As for the shipment itself in general 100% satisfaction and on time delivery!

Good product

Box was fairly torn up when it arrived, but all the attaching parts were in the tank itself, so everything was there. Went together easily and works great. Nice wide spray pattern covers 14 foot wide path. mounted to my Rancher four-wheeler fine but will mount it on a small yard trailer for safety. Too much weight for safe operation on a four-wheeler. All in all, very pleased with the product.

Works great on my 40 acres!

I live extremely rural on 40 acres, this 40 gallon tank helps keep vegetation down around our living area! Was using a 15 gallon spray tank and took so long to do 2 or 3 runs, was crazy, now with a 40 gallon tank, fill a couple of times and I've got the whole area around the house clear now and so easy and quick!
