Description

Chapin’s 98444 40-gallon spot sprayer, with added 2-nozzle boom, covers farmland, acreage, orchards, and gardens. The chemical-resistant seals handle fertilizers, herbicides, and general solutions. The 2.5 GPM diaphragm pump quick-connects to a 12V battery using a wiring harness with alligator clips. The 40-gallon translucent tank allows you to see the liquid level and you can quickly drain the tank with a 2-inch drain with built-in 3/4-inch port. Turn on the pump with the inline on/off toggle switch. The cushioned poly, shut- off, 20-inch extension wand, and 180-inch hose extends your spray reach. Easily switch back and forth from spot spray to the 2-nozzle boom. Chapin’s triple-filtration system reduces downtime from clogs in the hose and shut-off. Made in the USA with global materials and backed by Chapin’s 5-year limited warranty.

Product delivered different from product advertised. Product delivered was not able to be made functional due to manufacturing flaw. Manfacturer slow and difficult in addressing problem. Over a month and still not resolved. Update! Delivered July 25 as promised. As of Sept 30 unit is still not operational. Can't even be sure if this thing will work? Still fighting with Chapin for delivery of originally missing and/or defective parts. Initial customer service reps are very nice, but Chapin policies and higher level representatives are very difficult to deal with. The company is apparently very disorganized and inefficient causing errors and delay after delay. Chapin is very reluctant to stand behind their product. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. This tank is sized perfectly for my atv. For reference it's a Sportsman 800. I strapped the tank to the ATV with the provided straps and they held well. The spray bar mounted directly to the ATV rear rack frame with existing holes, I didn't need to modify anything. The bar was mounted with provided hardware as well. To make sure everything worked properly and I had no leaks I filled about halfway with water. I'm glad i did because the plumbing tee where the gauge mounts was cracked. It's a plastic tee that must have been cracked during shipment. I called Chapin and their customer service was fantastic. I explained the problem and they sent the replacement part in a few days. I swapped the plumbing tee and everything worked perfectly. The spray bar fans out 7-8 ft and the spray wand also works very well. Adjusting the valves on top turn on/off either the spray bar fan or spray wand. This is a great setup! ... show more

    • Almost perfect.
I just put together this Chapin 40-gallon sprayer, and it's pretty impressive! The tank itself is huge, which is great because I won't have to keep refilling it all the time. Plus, it's made from a tough, chemical-resistant plastic that can handle all my lawn and weed control chemicals. The sprayer is built really well too. It's made in the USA, which I appreciate, and it comes with a one-year warranty. Setting it up was a breeze – the diaphragm pump connects easily to a 12V battery, and everything clicks right into place. The only thing I might change is the nozzle. It seems like a standard plastic one, and I might upgrade to stainless steel or copper for a little more durability. But other than that, this sprayer is fantastic! It comes with a long hose, a comfy shut-off handle, and even a built-in drain for easy emptying. Plus, the triple filtration system keeps things running smoothly without clogs. All in all, this is a solid sprayer that gets the job done. With a metal nozzle upgrade, it'd be practically unstoppable! ... show more

    • Perfect for spraying plots or large back yards
I have a decent-sized plot and it's time to take out the weeds, I have a backpack-style sprayer but its not cutting it anymore. I got this to help reduce the times I need to refill, I can take care of my plot with one full tank now. This is a complete unit that has saved me time which is the real value here. The pump that is included with this is a workhorse you just point and it goes. I learned to use a light dye to just help me keep track of what areas I've sprayed. Overall this has done great with weedkiller and I look forward to the next time it is time to spray again since I know it will be easier on my back and by the amount of volume I can cover with this it less time I have to spend doing so.
