Its 15-gallon heavy-duty, translucent, chemical resistant tank has a 6-inch wide tank opening for easy filling and mixing. The 1.0 GPM, 12 Volt diaphragm pump with quick connect alligator clips delivers a maximum pressure of 60 PSI. I strap this to the back of my ATV and works great. I wish Chapin included a cigarette light adapter as this is not permanently mounted to my ATV but once I bought one, it is easy to load up, fill, spray and remove when I'm done. I would change the bottom of the sprayer slightly...make it flat. The center is raised 1.5 inches or so and the pump tube just goes to one side, so you can't ever use all of the mixture. I was tired of lugging 2-gallon pump sprayers around, so I tried this one, 15 gallons. The price was so good I was leery of the purchase but have used it twice with herbicide and works great. The 15-foot hose is wonderful and has better pressure and range than what I expected. A wiring harness is included with alligator clips and is about 6-8 feet long and the spray wand is long enough that I put the sprayer in the loader bucket of my tractor and spray from the seat. I won't be using this daily, but I think it will satisfy my needs of 2-3 times a season. Hard to beat for the price. ... show more

Beware there seems to be no quality checks in the manufacturer assembly of this product. Unit arrived looked ready to go but upon using, it literally blew up like a bomb spraying the poison I was using all over me and even through my safety glasses into my eyes ! Upon inspection, all connection screws were never tightened and under pressure it started to leak out until multiple connection points blew apart. I had to go buy missing screws and re assemble and tighten all connections. Also, there was plastic shavings left by the manufacturing process found in the filters indicating that the unit was not cleaned prior to shipping. Unit now works fine, but absolutely needs a quality check before use ! ... show more

I have a small backyard orchard (6 fruit trees), decent size vegetable garden and multiple berry patches. The sprayer works well and does project spray up to roughly 16 to 20 feet. The sprayer came fully assembled and in good shape, I recommend snugging the hose clamps upon arrival with a flat head screwdriver for preventative measures. Simple product to use. This sprayer should last a lifetime as long as it is well taken care of; such as: flushing the system thoroughly with water after use and letting it thoroughly dry out in the sun, do not physically abuse it and do not expose it to harsh products and/or chemicals. ... show more

Before I did this review I used this item 5 times with 5 full tanks of spray. Now when I first opened the box and started the set up I realized that it was assembled and almost ready to go. In picture #2 I found chunks of plastic in the tank from the factory drilling the holes for screws etc. So make sure to clean out the tank before first use. The picture shows one large chunk and also many small pieces i had to remove. Since I do not have a tractor or ATV I set my tank up in a garden wagon which I pull manually behind me as I spray. I am satisfied with the length of hose and the nozzle is adjustable. I have a solid state battery 12 Volt which I attach to the pump power clips. It works great for this and I charge it while the tank is not in use. I sprayed 3 full tanks one morning without charging the battery and it was still working fine when I finished. This unit has plenty of spray pressure for extending the distance of spray. I did have to tighten the hose that is attached to the pump as it leaked the first time I used it. Simple fix just a screw driver. I would recommend this product for people with 1 or 2 acres. Our lot is in the city and is 1.2 acres. Since we are in the city I must keep my weeds in control to avoid the weed patrol. Before this purchase I used a 2 gallon sprayer and would spend several days spraying. Now I can get done in one day. What a time saver! A must to have for larger properties. I really like this thing. Tip: I not always empty it when I spray. So to clean it I pull the suction hose out and place it in a bucket of clean water spray until clear and only water come out. I return the suction to the tank and don't allow it to run again until I am ready. I do recommend this Chapin 15 Gallon sprayer. ... show more

    • Wand or spraying rod doesn't last more than a couple of years.

When it was new it worked great. I used it twice a year to spray my yard. After the 3rd year the plastic wand developed multiple holes though i cleansed it thoroughly after every use with water and left nothing in the tank or the spraying hose. Then I purchased one with a metal wand or rod and after two years the handle started leaking internally and would not spray. These are great conceptually but the handles and wands should be made of superior materials. They should last a long time with proper care for $100+ sprayers or maybe manufacturer should send extra wand. ... show more
