  • Chapin is one of the best 2 gallon sprayers on the market!!
Style: Handheld Sprayer
I invested in the Chapin 2 gallon sprayer after doing some research. The Chapin sprayer is a little pricey, but we’ll worth the investment. I fought the plastic 2 gallon sprayers for years and got tired of fooling with them. I found out about Chaplin through a grounds keeper at an office building I work out of. This guy is a perfectionist and takes care of a two block area around the building. He recommended the Chapin because of its durability and reliability. It is well worth the investment ... show more

  • Durable and lightweight!!
Style: Upgraded Professional-Use Steel Sprayer
It isn’t anywhere near as heavy as you would think. Extremely durable. Works very well. Easy adjustments of sprayer. Cleans well. And made in USA. Trust me, it’s worth the extra money. Consistent use for more than 6 months with NO issues.

  • Mostly good but a lot heavier than plastic
Style: Upgraded Professional-Use Steel Sprayer
Wanted a durable, strong tank sprayer that could last in hot, humid environment. Tank, sprayer, plunger & hose seem heavy duty ...and it is heavy. Doesn't seem like a big deal until you carry it around the property for a while. Also, because it is metal -and heavy- it can scrape/ damage surfaces like slate, tile, and wood. The strap is thin and could be made of stronger material, but so far it is holding up. Time will tell if this was a worthy investment, but I would buy the best quality plastic one if I were to choose again. If your plan is to put it through heavy daily or job site use/ abuse, this steel one might be a good choice ...if you don't mind the weight. Plastic is a lot cheaper and these things wear out, so you could go the cheaper route and just buy a new one when lifetime is up. The brass sprayer fittings and tips /hoses are WAY better on this sprayer vs plastic type, if you want the quality. ... show more

  • Decent sprayer
Style: Handheld Sprayer
The Chapin Premier Pro is a decent sprayer. It is overpriced however. There are others out there for about $20 less that are stainless steel, etc. It is certainly better than all of those poly sprayers with plastic parts that last two seasons then shut down for good. You can also buy replacement parts so that this sprayer should give you many years of service. The complaints I have besides the cost are that it really is not very powerful. The spray is disappointing. The carrying strap is totally useless. The part that holds the wand is ineffective. The wand continually falls off. This is a basic sprayer that is likely more durable than the poly ones. It is not a "professional grade" sprayer. You will have to pay $200 plus for one of those. ... show more

  • Compact and useful.
Style: Upgraded Professional-Use Steel Sprayer
It generates less pressure than the many backpack sprayers I've used, but the advantage is that it is easy to be very accurate in application. It is small and lightweight, better suited for storage in the garage and for my property now which is no longer on acreage. Perfectly good for the occasional spot spray which is what I have to do now. ... show more

  • Beware Chapin sprayer!
Style: Upgraded Professional-Use Steel Sprayer
Like many people these days, I no longer use Roundup and other such chemicals for weed abatement in my yard. I've turned to a vinegar + saline solution, which is non-toxic for bugs and animals. After using a few plastic pump sprayers, I wanted to buy a more heavy-duty sprayer. After much research, I turned to the Chapin 1254. I used it once, and that did it in. The seal on the bottom of the plunger buckled (see photo). I had chosen Chapin precisely because on the Amazon web site it was advertised as an "all-purpose" sprayer featuring "chemical-resistant seals and gaskets for stronger weed and pest control chemicals." Elsewhere it says: "COMPATIBLE SEALS & GASKETS: use stronger fertilizers, weed killers, and pesticides." After the unit stopped working, I contacted Chapin, and they said that the manufacturer's users manual said: "Never spray flammable, caustic, acidic, bleach or other corrosive solutions or heat, pressure, or gas producing chemical." I responded that that warning should have been given to me BEFORE I purchased the unit, not afterwards and only in fine print. I asked for my money back. Nikki Ferrin, the Product Support Representative, refused to do so (not much Product Support there). She gave me the part number for the seal, though she said that vinegar would only buckle it again. I called the parts department, and they wanted $50 for the seal! No way. Anyway, buyers beware! Chapin has a CYA exclusion that you learn about (if at all) only upon delivery, and only if you decide the fine print clearly contradicts the product description on the website. The website, I'd say, is fraudulent, because it promises, several times, that "stronger" chemicals won't hurt the unit, and that "all-purposes" will be accommodated. Not a word about limitations. I paid good money for the damn thing. Based on my experience, I'd say the company is disreputable, as well as rude. And it's "heavy-duty" sprayer sucks. Spend your money elsewhere, I say! ... show more

  • Best weed killer container
Style: Handheld Sprayer
It took a while to figure out how to pressure the container (the instructions do not show clearly how to unlock the handle), but once I did unlock the handle it was smooth sailing. I like the ease to spraying and the sleek container allows me to store the container outside after I remove the sprayer. Worth the extra dollars and recommend this product for weed control. ... show more
