Description

The Champion Power Equipment 100837 Home Standby Generator System includes 14kW aXis Home Standby Generator and 200A aXis ATS Whole House Automatic Transfer Switch. This generator never needs refueling operating on your home’s NG or LP fuel supply, starts automatically when utility power goes out, and turns off automatically when utility power is restored. The battery keeps a charge and operates in temperatures ranging from -22° to 104° F. The Champion aXis platform is a programmable, upgradable home standby system. The digital aXis Controller™ is equipped to provide continuous protection for the HSB. Power Line Carrier technology allows the system to communicate using your home’s existing wiring so your generator can talk to the automatic transfer switch and other components without needing to run separate wires, saving you money and time. With aXis Wi-Fi Direct your installer can use a tablet or phone to program your generator meaning faster setup and lower cost. This automatic Whole House transfer switch backs up your home’s 200-amp distribution panel and manages your high-demand appliances using our aXis Load Management Modules. Choose from four priority levels for each appliance from “must haves” to “nice to haves.” Multiple devices can share the same priority allowing for an unlimited number of loads that can be managed. If your generator nears capacity, high-demand appliances are automatically turned off according to their priority level to avoid overload. Load Management Modules also use Power Line Carrier technology simplifying installation. Featuring a NEMA 3R Service Entry rated enclosure, this switch may be installed indoors or outdoors and is ETL listed to comply with UL standards for the US. I was impressed enough with the reviews and videos out the on this unit to proceed with purchasing one for my home and I'm glad I did. I received it within a week of ordering. The installation was fairly straightforward. I had a 250 gallon LPG tank installed to serve the HSB Generator. The 100A ATS allows for the entire internal house panel to be served during an outage so everything in the home with the exception of the HVAC, Range, and Dryer circuits. All other appliances, circuits and water heater are served by the unit. The 12.5kW unit is more than sufficient to serve all of this because with LPG the unit can serve up to 52A of load. You do have to purchase (2) 12V batteries separately and install oil in the unit before running it as it ships without batteries or oil. A concrete pad is not absolutely necessary if you have a flat compacted location for the unit. Rock would be recommended if you don't pour a pad. I would highly recommend this unit to anyone looking to install a HSB generator. It automatically starts and restores power in under a minute during an outage. ... show more

I've had my generator for about 4 years and haven't had a problem until recently. Evidently the starter has gone out. I called Champion customer support and they were very helpful and are sending the part. I'm very impressed by their concern for their customers!

generator connected by professional installers, but giving low voltage error. called support for help and given "local" warranty company which i have to pay for to get them to come out and look at. will not buy again

It is overkill for my Off-Grid application, but I wanted the extra capacity for future expansion plans & to run heavy 240 V equipment when needed. This unit will only part of your house. You can run lights and Fridge but the hundred amp panel will not run HVAC and Hot water tank at the same time. We still have this one, but considering a bigger unit to power whole house. Also I you need to hire a qualified electrician to install the panel. Cost for me to have this done $450.00 ... show more
