    • Rough Edges
Good welding and parts are positioned straight. One side of each prong is rough. Would be very abrasive to fence wire galvanized finish. Both cable ferrules were swaged flat instead of round and had sharp ends and sides. The tool will last a long time and was much cheaper than a competitor.

    • The distance between the tool prongs must match chain-link diamond to diamond.
It is not fair to me give a full review on a tool intended probably for new-fabric installation. In the end, I only needed to tie the tops of our old fence top-diamonds to the top rail using stainless steel ties. A tool with this one's intended capabilities was not, in the end, required for the lesser task that I eventually faced. Thankfully, the SS ties served to improve both the appearance and functionality of our old paddle (pop) tennis court perimeter 6 foot tall chain-link fence. Also, it is very important the this tool's prongs match the center-to-center dimensions of the fence-fabric diamonds. I did not check first, and the dimensions did not match. I also should have known that this tool will heavily mar a fresh coat of paint on any top rail. I would only suggest using such a tool on galvanized steel (unpainted) top rail if you are worried about scratching your top rail paint job. ... show more
