I am sad that I waited to buy this along with my cameras. The functionality is great and it really ties everything together. I love that we get door alerts and this was so simple to set up with the sensors. It is not unbox and go but, the setup process was absolutely a breeze. I love that I get a small little ding when doors open and on the app I get more information. It really helps for when my kids go in and out around curfew. I had a prior system to this and it was so irritating to hear DOOR OPEN BACK DOOR OPEN everytime it would go off. I would have bought this with my initial ring purpose if I did more research. I love that when I leave its a few taps on our pad and the worry is gone. I plan on getting all of the add on very soon with this system as it's so beneficial and so much more cost effective in my monthly expenses ... show more

My father passed away recently and my mom is now living alone about 2 hours away. She was having trouble sleeping because of being alone and worried about someone breaking into the house. She wanted something simple and this was it. It took some time pairing and setting up all of the door and window sensors but once I got the hang of it the process was simple. I now can monitor from my phone if an alarm is triggered and if it was an accident I can help her shut it off using my phone. This was the case in the beginning but now she has the hang of it. It has given her peace of mind and now I am considering getting a system for my home as well. It would make a great addition to my current system which is just a hammer under the mattress.     • This is a lifesaver for my business
I have had mixed experiences from Ring. Some of it stemmed from difficulty connecting a camera, some from the lack of 5ghz support on some devices, and some stemmed from the need to pay monthly fees. This system has been effective. No false alarms as of yet. One day someone might've left the business door unlocked. Alarm began ringing, we were notified, and we quickly popped down to the shop and nothing seemed missing (tip jar near the door was fine). This has been a good addition to our business. ... show more

Better product and service than ADT. Sensors were easy to install and use of app makes it even better! I can tell battery life for each sensor… arm the system from any location, and check in on activity. Great system … highly recommend.

    • Refurbished? It is working just fine on the basic protection service.
Not sure what is refurbished. Maybe they reuse a circuit board or something. Every piece looked brand new and was packaged as brand new. No scuffs or fingerprints or anything. Everything works perfectly. My only complaint is not with the actual product as much as the service it requires to operate. Obviously you need a paid service to get notifications. Setting up the service was very misleading as it told us we needed the more expensive service and this was simply not true. You only add “professional monitoring” and a cell phone backup for the extra cost. I’m ok with it notifying me personally as most people would be. The setup process not mentioning the less expensive option felt very shady. The alarm is working just fine on the basic service and I have armed and disarmed it from 2000 miles away to let mother in law in to the house. I also put one of the door sensors on my storage building out in the yard. It works fine unless I park the motorhome between it and the house. I feel it is more than adequate range for most situations. I didn’t rate the motion detector because I haven’t set it up yet due to being in the middle of a remodel. ... show more
