This should really get 5 stars just because of the price. I always had iPads / iMacs / iPhones - this was my first real non Apple device. I decided to give it a try since the new iPad Pros are going for up to $1800 new & will only be “fast” for a few years - then newer stuff comes out & we all know how that works. Anyway, compared to an older iPad - this thing is super fast. I’m was surprised how much so. If you don’t know, you can only get apps through Amazon App Store; but that can by modified so you can get anything in Google Play / Android. The caveat I’ve found so far is - eBay app will download; but not connect. Apparently eBay & Amazon are not in bed together. Which I think is kinda crappy to make their app not available from Amazon & the Android one not work. I don’t know who’s doing it is - but it’s just dumb. But you can still easily use eBay through the website on this tablet. The touch screen is more sensitive compared to Apple products and it has a lighter plastic type feel compared to Apple’s heavier glass / aluminum. Not as much customization as iPad (mostly useless stuff anyway) and the tablet is longer and narrower compared to iPad. Every other app seems to work as good as it does on my iPhone 10X. Battery life is pretty good - not amazing. Another drawback compared to iOS is no iMessage or text message receiving with your original phone number with this system (at least I haven’t found a way). There are 3rd party apps that you can text with - I believe they all use a different phone number though. This is not a shortcoming of the machine, just to what I feel is a superior user system from Apple since they have the market share of phones. The screen look good - not new Apple amazing; but still very nice for whatever you like. Alexa is built in and works pretty well; although it’s usefulness is questionable beyond opening the app with some apps. The camera on this thing sucks compared to Apple - but who really uses a camera much on a tablet? So, I’d say everything being equal I’d buy a new iPad Pro. The thing is, everything is not equal. Compared to iPad, this thing is cheap and worth every penny. The things it does it does well and it will likely exceed your expectations. I bought mine refurbished (basically came as new) for $80 on Prime Day. It comes with ads on it & you have to pay $15 to get rid of them. I can’t justify Apple’s crazy escalating prices when this machine does work well at a fraction of the price. Best part about it is you can simply buy a new one as technology progresses without spending a grand. These machines are all extinct a year or so after they come out anyway, and prices (esp Apples) keep rising. Another benefit is no stupid lightening cord every Apple person hates. Those cords are fragile and more expensive and just don’t work well as they age. Much better to be able to use a micro USB like this machine uses. So, I’d say I would recommend this tablet to anyone.

Certified Refurbished Fire HD 10 Tablet - 5 Stars - Superb I got this as a therapy tool for my stepfather who is in a skilled nursing unit. He keeps in touch with the outside world via Facebook. He was able to "attend" his granddaughters wedding via a live stream. I added an app for the bible version of his choice. I set him up with $25 in coins to buy apps. Playing games "exercises" his synapse and improves his hand/eye coordination and dexterity. It relieves the boredom of being confined to a single building with the same people 24/7. He's really happy with it. After I set him up with a Prime account, he'll have access to a library of books, music and movies. Residents have minimal space and are discouraged from accumulating much in their area. Having a variety of entertainment venues come through a single device helps free his room of books, CDs and Disk Players. He doesn't have to depend on someone coming to his room to get him a book or help set up a player. He keeps his tablet on his side table. I got a heavy case for it, should it slide off his bed. Since the tablet is encased, I etched his name in the case w/o damaging the tablet should I need to return it. I probably have 'bout $150 in the tablet, the case, his bible app and the $25 I started him out with. As far as his mental health, I couldn't have made a better purchase.

32GB Fire Tablet HD has a very amazing picture quality. Its quite fast. I'm still trying to figure out how to use the phone and text..but the issue is now resolved...you must first download an app...like Snapchat, Text Me etc...just do a word search for Text Me App...for example and go from there. There is an App Tab so its much easier to search there instead of doing a keyword search with Yahoo or Safari. Amazon Fire makes technology user friendly....whew...Searching for an App is now easy because apparently...they provide whats available instead of getting that reject message..haha It's quite fast. This product with the keyboard is quite easy and very ideal....you'll enjoy your tablet. Without the keyboard it can become cumbersome and tedious... As for Keyboards, there are some keyboards with channels so you can use two devices with the same keyboard....for example your phone and tablet...and you switch the channel to write and go from your phone to your tablet...you know like a User Friendly Auction Device..haha...not sure how to explain the power and prowes you now have in your hand with a Jelly Comb Keyboard... Without the keyboard it feels like the stone age if you need to write. Jelly Comb Keyboards with channels and Fire are the best product invented ever in technology. The Youtube videos quality are also Amazing as in picture quality. The wide view for videos on Fire 32GB HD10.....ideal. **Accessories: This product can take many accessories..instead of using a bluetooth mouse you can use a Keyboard with a pad mouse already built on the keyboard...you will have to connect the keyboard directly to your tablet...and then use the mouse with bluetooth capability...with the tablet. So the answer is yes....and you can also use a Stylus instead of touching the screen and dealing with having to clean the screen every other hour. There is also a glass protector you can buy for the tablet. I think so far you can only do one bluetooth item at a time...not sure if Amazon Fire is built for more than one bluetooth item...and how would you register them..as a device..phone, keyboard, mouse etc...when there is more than one bluetooth accessory. maybe they are instead connected to the Jelly Comb with more than 2 channels. So far I see you might only need two channels to complete your desk. So yes, its a bit passe if there is only one channel for one bluetooth device on the Fire tablet...but the Jelly Comb has 2 channels there. That should be their next venture in upgrade...devices. Not sure why we need to register with Google and then Google Play and then Microsoft...what an endless mess with Microsoft and Google and Devices. Tootles.
