Received a refurbished fire 8 a few days ago and am pretty happy so far. The tablet looks brand new and the box included a new charging brick and c-cable. I keep reminding myself it is not meant to be a speedy tablet. If you don't mind waiting an extra second or two for some things to load up, this is a great tool for all your Amazon apps! One-touch for everything! You can choose to disable the ads and recommendations (without paying the $15 fee) - which keeps the home screen looking a little less cluttered. The lock screen ads only show up about half the time - a nice surprise. I will need to get used to the square-ish shape - my previous tablets all had a narrower (more book-like) feel to them. I haven't yet done the Google play store work-around - it's kind of nice to have a google-free device! If you are looking for an inexpensive tool to do all your Amazon stuff - this seems perfect! ... show more

I buy refurbished often and am usually satisfied with my purchase. This time however, there are some minor problems with the touch screen, it's not a huge deal, just annoying.
