So, for me, these really nail the Goldilocks zone for weight and thickness. They have such an appealing aesthetic to them all across the board. They just feel great. Solid in the hand, not overly dainty, which I find wonderful. It's not that they don't need to be treated with care. They surely do. At the same time, they're not overtly fragile, as some porcelain can be. The size, as mentioned in the title, is perfect for small dishes. Salad. App. Bread selections with dips. Desserts will look especially wonderful when plated on these. For me, I find them delightfully attractive. I really enjoy the variations between them. They're in this way a conversation piece, as well as service wear. Depending on what type of host you are, and the occasion for which you are employing them, they can surely add to the elegance and flare of the event. I don't expect these are going to be often used, but when they are, I consider they will have a wonderful impact. I mean, these are lovely enough to me for a display shelf, adding a bit to background, say behind some growing herbs or flowers, etc... I think these plates are beautiful! I have a dinner plate set that is also blue variety pattern, so these smaller dessert plates go perfectly with those! I absolutely LOVE the variety of patterns. It's so cool to choose and display. They are well made ceramic, which is usually the best for dinnerware. You do have to be gentle with them because ceramic can chip easily, especially on the bottom. I believe the price is a little high for 6 small plates, but not enough to deduct a star ⭐ The quality and aesthetic of this set is excellent, so it balances it out. Very beautiful set. Would make a great housewarming gift, especially to those who like blue and fun designs! ... show more

These plates are not dinner sized. Great for appetizers or desserts! I'm not sure what these plates are made of. They seem fragile and they may chip. I really like the style of these!

These have got to be some of the prettiest plates I've ever owned, each of the six featuring different blue-and-white designs featuring flowers, fans, and waves. They look just as they appear in the images here. They're ceramic, about medium weight. They're not full-sized dinner plates, at least not where I come from, but are what are known to me as "salad" plates, though of course I'll also use them for lunch, dessert, snacks, etc. I'd be interested in buying matching dinner plates, along with coffee cups, and bowls, if they became available. Nice that my new plates are safe for the oven, microwave, and dishwasher, though I only know that from this page. The shipping box, unfortunately, contained no written information. But the plates were really well-packed inside a Styrofoam container. Recommend. ... show more

These are smaller bread plates or salad plates. They are definitely not the American size dinner plates. The bottom of the plates has no branding on washing instructions which makes me wonder about the quality of the plates and how long they will last. I wonder if they are truly dishwasher safe and microwave safe, and whether it will leach anything into my food if they don't even put their brand name on the plate. Currently, the brand in the posting is listed as "KITCHENLESTAR," and it says it is made in China. When you look for other items sold by this brand, there are a few items but no similar plates and not many reviews. Although this is pretty, it may not be safe to use as advertised. ... show more

Wow, these plates are SOOOO pretty!! 😍 I have never owned porcelain dishes, so I am nervous about breaking them, but only time will tell how durable these are. I haven't had any accidents with them yet, so I don't know anything about their strength/TRUE quality, but once I have a couple slip ups, I'll come back to update my review. Even if/especially if I don't chip or break any of them! As of now, I just LOVE these plates, and I especially love the fact that they can go in the oven, AND are dishwasher safe!! These 8inch porcelain dishes are perfect to use for luncheon, light supper, salad, accompaniment dishes. The dishes are like Goldlilocks dishes: not too thin, not too thick---just the right thickness so I am not worried that they are too delicate to use often. I love the 6 different blue and white patterns of the dishes, and they work well with my white tableware to add interest to the table and the meal. The dishes stack well (a pet peeve of mine with dishware with a lip), and have a blue rim around each of the 6 dish designs. UPDATE: Seller immediately contacted me after review was posted. Seller stands behind these plates and sent out another set. Seller mentioned that the chips were due to handling, in their warehouse, prior to being shipped out. The new plates are so far holding up without chipping. Buy with confidence. These are smaller 8” SALAD plates. Unsure why they’re labelled ‘Dinner Plates’ as they don’t’ hold American-sized dinner portions whatsoever? The plates are high-glaze, shiny, and slippery. There bottom of the plates are entirely white and lack directions for care, nor branding info. I’ve used them sparingly and washed/dried them by hand. Needless to say, I’ve babied these salad plates. The other day, I noticed that one is chipped in several places. It’s not terribly noticeable nor does it affect the functionality. I venture to say these are cheap ceramic vs porcelain as advertised, which is disappointing. ... show more
