  • Works well, but there are caveats
Size: 1 VEHICLE KIT
TLDR: This did a good job of restoring headlights to near-new condition, but the box was missing the second pair of gloves, and the sanding discs disintegrated on the foam disc holder so I had to use them without the foam backer. I finally got around to using this on my wife's car, which is 10 years old and was showing moderate hazing/oxidation on the headlights. First problem I encountered is that the kit is supposed to come with two pairs of gloves per the instructions; my kit only included one pair. The second problem is that the kit has wet sanding discs that attach to an included foam pad/holder using mating hook and loop surfaces. Unfortunately, the fuzzy surface on the back of the first red sanding disc separated from the sanding disc almost immediately after wetting the disk/headlight per the instructions, so the sandpaper came off, leaving the fuzzy fabric on the holder, and it was near impossible to pull the fabric off the holder. I just ended up using the sanding discs without the holder (the backing on the second red sanding disc also came off when it got wet, as you can see in the photos). It made it slower and a little more difficult on the flat surfaces, and your hand will get tired more quickly, but I guess that's what you get for using a cheap kit. The instructions don't say to do this but I applied blue painters tape on the car paint surrounding the headlights to protect it from both the fluids on the wiping pads and the sanding that is involved. It's quick and easy and made it a lot easier to sand without worrying about damaging the paint. I also spent a good bit more time than the 2-3 minutes of sanding per headlight. I would say that it was more like 10 minutes per headlight per sanding disc (so about 40 minutes total of sanding) since this is the critical step for good results. Ultimately the results were good, it's just disappointing that the kit wasn't complete and didn't include higher quality components. Only time will tell how long this actually keeps the headlights looking clear. I'll try to update if it doesn't hold up over time. ... show more

  • Works!!!
Size: 1 VEHICLE KIT
I have a 2005 minivan and the headlights turned that ugly yellow hazy color from age. I decided to try this Cerakote Ceramic Headlight Restoration Kit and was extremely surprised with how well this worked with very little effort on my part. Step 1- clean your headlights with soap and water. Step 2- Clean each lens with the provided 4 wipes for each lens to remove most of the yellow haze. Step 3- Use the 2 different "sandpaper" discs for 2-3 minutes each on the lenses. Wipe the lenses and surrounding area with a soft cloth until they are bone dry. Step 4 (final)- Use the Clearcoat wipes provided on each lens paying attention to the included instruction card or using the QR code provided on the box. You just let the lenses dry for at least 60 minutes before driving your car and it's guaranteed to last as long as the car! The pictures attached show the difference after using this kit. If you see a green tint on the top portion of the lights, it's just the reflection of the tree above the car since it said you should apply this in a shaded area. The entire process of the kit took about 30 minutes. I can't believe how much newer it makes the van look! I can't speak to the actual longevity of this product because I just applied it today but, in reading other reviews, I'm sure it will last as long as I need it to! ... show more

  • Doesn't repair all lens damage
Size: 1 VEHICLE KIT
First of all this is not a bad product. Couple quick tips: mask off your paint first, use only fine spray of water with sandpaper and spray lots and lots of water, if you hear squeaking while sanding you probably have a piece of excess grit under the sandpaper which will scratch the lens so you need more water, when you're replacing the sandpaper lift up an edge and see if the backing is coming off and if it is go to a different location and test for it. Foggy headlight lenses need to address two problems. Yellowing of lenses and stone chips. This product is for yellowing of the lenses and has a limited impact on stone chips. I purchased this primarily for stone chips and it had only a very small impact on that problem. The chemical cleaning pads did virtually nothing as the pads did not get yellow. The sanding helped a bit but I'd need to be much more aggressive with a different product (more sanding) for any improvement. Cosmetically it looks good but with the lights on the stone chips are still visible. ... show more

  • Good results but not great
Size: 1 VEHICLE KIT
Used this kit on my old Chevy Suburban. These headlights are not the newer type with full clear outer cover. They are only totally clear in front of the high beam bulbs. The low beams, running lights, turn signal, and side marker bulbs are behind diffuser lenses. Anyway, my results on the headlights were good but not as miraculous as advertised. I followed the instructions to the letter and made sure everything was completely dry before using the final ceramic coating. As stated, the lenses do look a good bit better but not completely clear. Still some cloudiness but not too bad. Surprisingly, I got much better results on the taillights! I had tried another product n them some time ago and was not at all satisfied. I have been unable to find aftermarket replacement units to replace the dull, dingy factory units because my truck has “barn doors” instead of a rear hatch. Apparently, there is some difference in the taillights structure and none of the aftermarket folks make replacement units for barn door trucks. So I figured I had nothing to lose by trying the Cerakote kit on them. I am very pleased with the results., I followed the exact application steps as the headlights but with much better results. The taillights have been “reborn”. I now have no need to search for replacements. They look fresh and clean. I have no idea why my results came out so differently but that’s the story. I would also say that the time needed to go from start to finish is longer than they would have you believe. The “under 30 minutes” claim might hold true for one side but it took me a couple of hours just to do the work on the headlights not counting drying time. I still recommend this product and am glad I got it. It’s a good product, but not “miraculous” as the ad hype (at least not on my application). ... show more
