Description

Cen-Tec Systems’ hose with multi-brand power adapter set is engineered to connect a wide range of major power tool brands to your home shop vacuum for recovery of the debris and dust generated during the use of the power tool, keeping you and your shop clean while protecting you from airborne particulate that can harm your health. The adapters are designed to be versatile with most unique and tool industry typical connections. The inner collar with durable acetal clip connects directly to most brands of dry wall sanders and other tools generating high volumes of dust or having large debris profiles. A bayonet fitting with 1" soft TPE molded fitting is perfect for small power tool connections. The smooth 360 degree swivel rotation of the bayonet prevents the hose from kinking or resisting free movement of the power tool. Changing from the 1" fitting to a 1 ½” soft TPE fitting popular on many chop saws and routers takes only a second using the quick clip system. Further adapters included in this expanded set are ¾” and 1-1/4", fitting additional brands of tools and shrouds. Finally, an air relief is designed into the bayonet fitting to allow adjustment of the air stream at the tool as necessary to prevent tools sealing to the work surface. The final included adapter is an additional 2 ½" standard wet/dry vacuum adapter into the quick connect adapter. This allows for a 2 ½" cuff throughout the system so as to work with dust collection workstations often utilized with table saws. The hose offers a 1-1/4" x 16 foot highly flexible commercial grade vacuum hose with smooth interior to prevent clogs and maximize air flow to the vacuum. LONG STORY SHORT: Great dust collection solution for your average, at-home wood shop. I'm a hobbyist and DIYer, so a commercial dust collection system would be major overkill, but this system is wonderful for keeping the dust manageable in my garage/woodshop. The quick clip system and multiple adapters make it super easy to switch from one tool to the next, and keep the power tools runnin. I've got adapters on my DeWALT Miter saw, my battery powered Circular saw, and my batter powered Sander. Just take the vacuum hose from one, and clip it to the next. PROS: -Quick Clip system is awesome, so you're not shoving a rubber connector on to every tool, just unclip, and re-clip into the next one. -Hose connector is designed to allow the hose to spin freely, so the hose isn't twisting as you change angles (most noticeable on the sander) -Long 16 foot hose makes it easy to leave your shop vac relatively in one place, and be able to reach multiple tools. -Air relief valve, and adjustment collar on each adapter. Prevents getting stuck on a tool. -Super easy to connect and disconnect. CONS: -Not really a con, but I wish they had sets that had more adapters for a specific type of tool line. For example, maybe you could get a 16ft hose with a "Dewalt style" adapter set. or "Milwaukee style" adapter set that works with most of their tools. I have a couple adapters that I don't have uses for at the moment. CONCLUSION: Buy it. It's reasonably priced, and REALLY helps cut down on the dust you kick up while working in your garage wood shop. **Shop Vac not included. ... show more

The vacuum hose is very flexible and yet durable. The adapters included make easy fit to most of my tools. Dust management is better.     • Ok.. but not perfect

I replaced my 9gal Dewalt shop vac hose with this Cen-Tec system should have done more research because the hose doesn’t actually fit my Dewalt vac accessories which are 1 7/8”. I recommend you double check your shop vac sizing before making the same mistake I did. That said, I didn’t take away any stars for that since that was my fault - the reason for the 4 stars is because I find the connection mechanism to be extremely finicky and not a “quick” connect by any means. In a shop I just want to be able to connect things without thinking or looking. With cen-tec you have to ensure the little blue ring is lined up perfect with the cut out and then connect. And the blue ring itself is extremely fiddly so it likes to jump around and move almost like it’s purposefully trying to avoid being connected. Once things are connected however, the connection is fairly solid so long as you are using the right sized fitting since the silicone grip will always be the weakest link. Overall I’m surprised there aren’t many better options out there, or that cen tec hasn’t addressed their fiddly connection mechanism with a new version. For a general upgrade from any shop vac stock hose however, I’d say this is definitely better overall, but adds it’s own set of frustrations. ... show more

Pros: adapters directly compatible with Fein Turbo hoses, hose perfect match for Ridgid WD06700. Cons: none yet and don’t expect any. The hose is a perfect fit for the intake on my Ridgid WD06700 (6 gal) without any other adapters needed. The kit adapters latch onto my Fein Turbo hose perfectly as well, meaning this kit can service two different dust extractors/vacs in one. Also, the holes on the adapters for the hose snaps are large enough to make it easy to get them on without having to line them up perfectly. I was expecting I might have to run through a few different kits to finally get the mix of adapters I currently need, so this was all a welcome turn of events. No complaints. Highly recommended, even if you only have one of the vacs I mentioned above. (In the off chance one might be wondering, the dust port/handle base for the DeWalt DCW600B router in my pics is from a vendor on Etsy named CraftedByDesignNW. Last I saw, he makes them for about 6 brands of palm router.) ... show more

After seeing a number of positive reviews of Centec and their kits like this one and having just added a Dust Deputy Low-Pro to my Ridgid 12gal wet/dry vac, it was a perfect time to try this out. I accidentally purchased a knock-off of this Centec kit first, as the listing looked nearly identical. It was about $10 less, so out of curiosity, I didn't return it until I got this one so I could compare. The Centec is worth the small price difference for (at least) three reasons: 1) Knock-off version adapters are more rigid. The instructions tell you to dip the ends in hot water to make them more pliable. The Centec adapters are a bit more flexible and they slide on securely. Time=money, so +1 Centec. 2) knock-off version hose is not nearly as smooth on the inside as the Centec. My wet/dry vac needs all the help it can get pulling through 16' of 1-1/4" hose, so +1 Centec. 3) knock-off hose is significantly stiffer. The instructions say to lay it out for a few hours for it to straighten. Am I supposed to do this every time I unroll it? Or worse yet, leave it unrolled when not in use? Centec hose is nice and flexible out of the box, even after sitting on my porch all day while the high temp was 53°F, so +1 Centec. It looks like you can buy additional, single adapters. It also looks like Centec offers a long hose on a reel than can be wall-mounted. So you're not limited to just what comes in this kit if you wanted to expand your setup. ... show more

    • Great Kit. Turns my shop vac into a dust collector.

This is a great kit for the home owner /Diyer who dosen't have the room or need for a dedicated dust collection system. This is just what I was looking for to turn my shop vac into a dust collector. I have the Ridgid 11 gallon smart cart shop vac and this kit fits and works great with it. I just disconnect the factory ridgid shop vac hose and connect Cen-Tec hose. The fixed connector on one end of the hose fits into the shop vac port perfectly. The other end of the hose has a quick connect fitting that allows you to connect one of the different sized adapters. Now I can use my shop vac as a dust collector for my DeWalt 10" contractor table saw, my 12" miter saw and all my other hand tools that have a dust extraction port. The adaptors are made from a flexible rubber that stretch slightly to allow you to tightly fit them over the port on your tool. I like that the hose is a smaller diameter than my shop vac hose. The smaller diameter produces a very strong suction at the tool end. Plus the inside of the hose is smooth so your debris and dust will not get stuck in the hose like they do on a regular ribbed hose. I am glad I purchased this kit.     • Attachments fit almost none of my tools

I really want to love this product! This hose and attachments seem well made and sturdy, and the concept is great. But they are not nearly as universal as the description would have you believe. Currently I can only fit this product to 3 out of 6 tools I commonly use, and one of those connections required essentially jerry-rigging two attachments together to get them to fit both the tool and the hose. For the other three tools I’m currently SOL until I can acquire ADDITIONAL connectors to bridge the gap. So my rating currently stands at a 3/5. SECOND EDIT: I’ve actually bumped my rating back up to three stars after discovering that the stupid adapter compatibility problem is far reaching and not something that can be solved by one company just doing their best to help you with your dust collection. The range of attachments could still have more variability, but they do work well when they fit. EDITED… I am actually reducing my rating to two stars because there just keep being MORE ways this kit is not compatible with attachments or tools I need it to work with. I don’t want to keep having to buy MORE adapters to make these adapters function properly. Vacuum attachments were clearly designed by a particularly industrious demon. ... show more

GET QUICK CLIPS! I ordered 2 diff sets and wasn't able to get the standard rubber adaptors to work for my needs. I kept the 16ft + quick clip set. Hose is pliable -not stiff! Quick clips are AWESOME!!! The quick connects SCREW onto the hose = won't come off when moving or pulling on the hose. The rubber is nice and thick and feels durable yet soft enough that my arthritic hands could attach to vacuum easily. I can attach this to my baby Craftsman 2.5 wet/dry shopvac or change and use big lunky standard size shop vac (?brand). I loved this set so much that I ordered an additional set of quick clip connectors for the attachment end so I can easily use small attachments that came with baby Craftsman or unscrew the quick clip and use screw on the regular adaptor to use with standard shop vac attachments if I ever find them all -tested with round brush attachment. My main intention was to be able to vacuum car and stairs without tipping the vacuum over, pulling hose loose from vacuum or trying to balance the vacuum on the steps but I found these allow me to vacuum top of cupboards, bulkhead, ceiling fan, mantle, screens... you get the idea. GREAT PRODUCTS and all items arrived FAST! This is a VERIFIED PURCHASE/INVESTMENT from a Sr citizen that lives in MI, USA. ... show more
