Because I live on a large property I have wild bees around that I always have to deal with. And I always wanted to gather them from unwanted places and put into a controlled hive location. But I also have to deal with plenty of wasps and hornets around here too. They don't bother me as much as they seem to other people who show up and foolishly start waving their hands around swatting them away and then get what is coming to them by not knowing that being calm and still keeps them also calm and non-defensive. But from time to time they do make their nests in the most inconvenient places where you either have to eliminate them or move them. With this suit, I can just do what is needed best safely. Yearly I get big wasp nests in my fuel storage bin within feet of where I have to grab a fuel can and if moving slow, "with non-harmful intentions" they can sense that and leave me alone. But still, not a good place and anyone else getting a fuel can will get a different result. So this is a great protection suit for all that. Plus next year I do plan on starting some good location bee hives. The suit has all the features I need as a beginner without breaking the bank going overboard right out of the gate along with all else I need to get. The size ordered XXL, also fits me and that’s because I went one size larger than the normal XL size I would normally order which makes me happy. I just have to get used to it because believe it or not I have been around the bees to wasps in shorts and tee shirts without much of a problem. It's only the unexpected events when you bump into each other that creates a self-defense mode problem with them. Like once I hit the tree head on with the bucket of my front end loader at the time and a bee hive fell out of the tree and into the bucket. It didn't take long for them to figure out the bucket was not the one to go after as they hung there in midair in a swarm looking at the bucket and then me, and decided on me instead. I was sore for days afterwards. I bet this suit would have saved that day, but who goes around wearing something like this all the time. But better to have it when you need it then not. I will find out more with it next bee and wasp season. But for now I am happy with what it is and what I got.

This wonderful and thick bee suit arrived in nice packaging with little odor, little enough that I tried it on at once. The material is nice and thick, the netting placed well away from skin surfaces, the gauntlets nice and long, and, while I truly did obtain this for Halloween, it came directly to my rescue in short order. Of course, the thing is a BEE suit, meant to keep the little creatures on the outside. Thus, to actually wear it for its intended use is quite the chore. I undertook this chore when a neighbor saw me in it and asked for help removing "a nuisance." Well,that "nuisance," was an active wasp nest - the paper making kind - about 9 inches in diameter and, well, rather full of itself with activity. The fear she and I had was obvious - spraying the thing even with insecticide was going to break it and unleash Havoc on her, her garden and pool (where guests were expected) and worse, on MY garden and deck. This meant that someone had to get close enough to douse the thing and secure it. I choose a nice 5 gallon bucket with lid....so....zipped up the bee suit properly in all dimensions, approached the nest, and with no spray at all dropped the thing into the bucket...sealing the lid like Porky Pig slamming the hatch on Daffy. Golden. I sprayed the stragglers and noted NOT ONE sting through the very thick cloth, though I have to tell you, friends, that the little buggers poking their smooth bores into the netting was more than un-nerving. What say I to any apiarist? Buy this suit. If it could manage to 500 wasps, your bee tasks will be easy in comparison.
