It was not clear in the description, no nuts are needed. The brackets are threaded, and thread down to the tire to lock it in place. If you have the wrong size lug nut opening it may be awkward/difficult to tighten correctly, and you might want to add washers to keep the brackets from threading into the tire and scratching it. ... show more

Used to hold an extra tire on a new utility trailer. Works great for this being strong and an long enough to fit the tire and the tongue of the trailer

Installed on the BOTTOM of the trailer tongue. A little tough drawing the bolts snug. Because I had to spread the bolts to fit thru the holes in the wheel, the nut handles were more than a half inch apart. Standard padlock not long enough to get thru both handles. Minor inconvenience tho. good value
