Description

Product Specifications Why a Jack Plate? A jack plate will compensate for a long shaft engine! Does Your Boat Need a Jack plate? For this one, we consulted our network of industry professionals. Their responses were all varying degrees of a resounding YES. But how can you tell if your boat would benefit from a jack plate? What are some of the symptoms? Poor Holeshot Your outboard’s not perpendicular (straight up & down) in relation to the water at top speed. If you can trim the engine all the way up without the prop letting go or with no appreciable loss of water pressure at full throttle. The hull doesn’t seem to “lift” like it should. Boats rigged with jack plates, but otherwise identical to yours, turn higher-pitch props and perform better keep in mind that these characteristics can also be indications of other, more serious problems, but if you’re experiencing any or all of the above, your boat could be a good candidate for a jackplate implant. Jack Plates are the perfect solution for long shaft engines with a short shaft transom! The engine side holes of the Jack Plate are drilled 1.500 inches higher than the transom side. Combined with the 4 inches of adjustable vertical lift you can obtain 5.500 inches at a maximum height to raise your long shaft engine and make it workable on a short shaft transom boat! Here are the pre-drilled hole dimensions listed below in inches: Pre-drilled holes for 1/2'' stainless hardware 12 7/8'' across the top two holes from center to center 9 7/8'' across the bottom two holes from center to center 8'' of vertical distance between the top holes and bottom mounting holes If your holes do not match this configuration, you can drill into the aluminum plate. However, by modifying the unit returns will not be accepted.

  • Great bang for your Buck!
Size: 4 Inches
I’m writing a review because none of these other reviews answered the questions I had when I ordered it. 1. This is a very nice jack plate. It’s very high quality and exactly like Vance marine jack plates. 2. It can fit smaller clamp on outboards but requires small adjustments. I had to add spacer shims for the lower motor mounts as shown in the pictures which is just some aluminum flat bar from the hardware store. And I had to drill holes in the outboard mounting plate of the jack plate to get my 30 yamaha on it but it wasn’t hard. 3. If you’re mounting a smaller motor on the 4” jack plate it’s a little tight getting to the adjustment bolts and nuts on the center shaft that lifts the plates. The fine thread does lift the motor with ease. So take into consideration the height you set the plate before you put the motor on. You can adjust it after but it’s not as easy. 4. This jack plate helped my top end and handling TREMENDOUSLY. I gained 8mph in the top end and had a much better hole shot having the setback to put my prop in less turbulent water behind my boat. 5. This jack plate allowed me to run much bigger pitch props as well. 6. I hit 2 logs with my scag on my boat and the plate didn’t even budge so it’s pretty dang sturdy and strong. All in all this is a great product I’m very happy with it and it makes my boat perform and look better 5 star product in my books! ... show more

  • Junk
Size: 6 Inches
Why did you pick this product vs others?: I attempted to adjust the jack plate before installing it. The aluminum adjustbnut stripped. There is no way to adjust it while the motor is mounted. Junk.

  • 150 screamin eagles
Size: 6 Inches
Put a 150 merc on a 17ft Lund and got 6.5 inches of lift on the bottom bolt hole(on the motor) all I did was take a step bit to it and made the side bolt holes bigger for the .5 inch but it works good don’t listen to the other whiny people they expect plug and play when it comes to boats.
