    • Bigger than I thought
After receiving a roosting bar I’d ordered I expected this to be tiny but it wasn’t. It works great for new chicks but I’m also still using it as a “toy” for my 6 week old chicks. They like to stand at the top of it in their run. No assembly which is always a plus. Sturdy and a good value.

Expensive, not worth the cost. Cracked within the first week, chickens used it for 2 days. Edit= customer service was quick to respond and issue full refund

Nice product but I would not buy this again as I don’t feel it is necessary. I didn’t see my chicks use it and they tackled the ladder to the coop just fine.

    • Very slick surfaces
This roost is very well made. However, the surface of the board and perch bars are so slick that my chicks are face-planting every time they attempt to climb it. I scuffed the surfaces with coarse sandpaper, and my chicks are able to navigate it now. They're just 8 days old, but they have it mastered - climbing and fluttering to the top and then flying off, and a few already perch on the apex for a nap. ... show more

I got this for the little ones for enrichment. We'll see if they all take to it. The silkie in the photo was placed there. Hopefully they will all follow suit. It seems durable and easy to clean. Of course, that remains to be seen. It was a bit larger than I expected. I didn't take note of the measurements before ordering. It's almost too big for my brooder box. If you're going to order for your brooder, I would definitely check the measurements. It doesn't leave much room with feeder and waterer too. I bought this to help teach my chicks to climb a ramp, perch and roost. It’s been a great way for them to exercise and learn to perch. They play on it all the time while they are outside during the day. I routinely see them perching on too and playing and chasing each other on it. It’s easy to clean and it folds flat.
