Features

  • TARGETS FEMALE MOSQUITOES: Catchmasters Oasis Mosquito Trap Ovi-Mini targets egg-laying female mosquitoes by mimicking breeding sites to lure and trap the pests. The flying insect trap helps eliminate future mosquitoes and reduces mosquito bites. The capture chamber hides the captured mosquitoes, making it more discreet than fly paper or sticky traps.
  • FULL PROPERTY COVERAGE: This Mosquito Trap kit includes 4 Ovi Mini traps & 4 glue boards, providing enough coverage for an average-size property. This mosquito killer can be placed on the ground or hung. Use a combination of both methods to increase the effectiveness of the outdoor mosquito control around your property.
  • NATURAL ATTRACTANT: This OviMini mosquito jar utilizes a combination of organic material you gather (clipped grass, dried leaves, hay, etc.) and water. The Oasis Mosquito Trap is natural, safe, non-toxic, and effective. No electricity required. Unlike a traditional bug zapper or mosquito repellent, the Ovi Mini trap silently kills mosquitoes and flying insects without making a mess.
  • WHERE OASIS SHOULD BE DEPLOYED: The Oasis OviMini should be placed where female mosquitoes are most likely to frequent around your home and backyard, in areas that are cool, shaded, moist, and out of the wind. For best use, place in a shaded outdoor patio, property corners, anywhere near standing water, and around vegetation.
  • INTELLIGENT PEST MANAGEMENT: At our core, we are dedicated pest detectives. We believe in utilizing a science-based approach to integrated pest control. We call this approach Intelligent Pest Management. We leave no stone unturned when it comes to pests, and we have unwavering conviction in our products.

  • Highly effective and nontoxic mosquito control
Size: Traps (4-Pack)
I found this system is highly effective. I used 8 units for 1/2 acre with amazing reduction of mosquitos. Previously we were unable to sit outside without heavy mosquito repellant. Within 1 week after installing these traps, we were able to enjoy being outside without any insect repellant and without seeing any mosquitos! Common sense tells that these should be set on the ground (not hung from the top) and should be carries with one hand underneath the bottom. Once you figure out how to easily install the glue strip, it remains a little tricky to place the top correctly and to twist clockwise to lock the top in place. I found that a small amount of sweet baled hay is the best attractant with these traps. I replaced the glue strips once a season, using the replacement strips offered by Catchmaster. ... show more

  • Ineffective.
Size: Traps (4-Pack)
We set these up in our yard as directed and checked them over a period of about six or seven weeks. We had quite a few mosquitos this year but did not find a single mosquito in the traps. They were completely ineffective.

  • Undecided after 1 season in
Size: Traps (4-Pack)
1 season in. I didn’t notice any difference in my backyard population. I do have a large yard at 7/10 of an acre. I had 8 set out. This year I am adding 8 more. 3 stars because I think the concept is good; the design has some things I didn’t like and I’m still not decided on the effectiveness. Thoughts from my experience so far: They don’t hang well. The roof just presses on and the weight of the water made my hanging ones separate from the roof and fall. I set them on the ground, now. Regular inspections of the glue boards did not show many mosquitos, but did trap many other harmless and beneficial bugs. The glue boards are a mess to deal with so this year I will not use them. As an added measure I will be adding bits of Bti mosquito dunks to the water. Will update at the end of season two or sooner if results are positive. ... show more

  • Effective as a Slow Burn
Size: Traps (4-Pack)
This is the standard Ovitrap, something there are loads of DIY instructions for but I wanted one made for the purpose rather than cutting up window screens myself. This trap ultimately works by luring mosquitos to lay eggs in a place that will kill their larvae. The glue catching the adults is much less likely. Mosquitos have short lives, killing their generations is a great control strategy. I don't think this Ovitrap is as strong as Biogents, but it does cost half as much, is slightly smaller and fits in tucked away rather conveniently. These traps are good because if you fail to maintain them, they still work. The screen traps gestating mosquitos in the bucket so they never escape, no BT or poison needed. Just leave the screen on, keep water in the bucket. If you forget to add poison the trap still works, until a screenless bucket. The average female mosquito lays eggs something like 10 times in 6 places, so I think 2 or 4 isn't going to cut it in Central Texas. I use these traps and 2 different biogents all along side each other, fairly effectively. I recommend getting these Orvid traps outside as soon as the last freeze. Earlier the better. ... show more

  • Definitely not suited for coastal South Florida
Size: Traps (4-Pack)
Didn’t catch a single mosquito in the FL Keys. Followed instructions exactly and even repositioned multiple times. Well constructed but didn’t do its job so it’s got to get the lowest score possible. For the money, no where near worth it in my opinion. Had to finally pull the trigger on a propane trap. First week caught literal thousands of mosquitos and no-see-um’s with the propane. ... show more

  • Very Disappointed.
Size: Traps (4-Pack)
On a recommendation from a major consumer products publication, I bought four of these. Very cheaply constructed product and WAY overpriced for what you get. Plus, I've killed more by swatting them on my skin than all four have killed in weeks. What I don't like about the construction: 1.) The top has an optional hanging/carry handle (it's just a long black twisty). Problem is, the top is not screwed or plastic welded to anything below it. There are 4 plastic studs that the top hat is pushed onto. The weight of the bottom (especially when filled with water) simply pulls the top off and the bottom falls to the ground while splashing water on your leg. 2.) The bottom water container is very difficult to connect to the upper receiving part. The bottom has recessed grooves while the top has very shallow tabs. You are supposed to twist the two together (about a 1/4 inch) but even with large hands there is no good hand hold and sometimes when you think you've got it, you try to pick it up and the bottom falls out and you get splashed with water again. 3.) The mosquitos are supposed to get stuck on the disposable sticky tape in the upper section. Trouble is the adhesive apparently doesn't work well when wet. How does it get wet? Probably one of two ways (or both). Since it sits directly above the water bath there is probably evaporation rising upwards. Secondly, since (as already mentioned) the top and bottom halves are hard to connect, the sticky tape falls into the water bath while trying to connect them together. There is a screen between the two halves but it still happens sometimes. It would be better if there was something holding the sticky tape in place because gravity is working against you - you can't flip it over and twist (remember the water!). Additionally, if you still think you want these, check the price of replacement sticky tape inserts before you order. ... show more
