This carrier confused me at first, before I figured out how to open the barrier between the front and extended back lol. I'm glad there was a way to open that as I was concerned there wasn't initially. The front/backpack part is ok. But it's quite a small space. If your cat is on the bigger side, this might not work. My cat is pretty small even though she's grown, probably weighs around 4-5 pounds. It would probably comfortably(if kitty is calm and lays down)fit cats up to 8-10 pounds but if they are fearful and can't relax, they won't be able to turn and move around that much. But that may be a good thing for some cats. In the vehicle or home, office, anywhere you can safely sit the carrier down with plenty of room, you can open the extended part which is very roomy and will keep your cat inside. There are a few different ways to put your cat into or take them out. You can close the barrier between the front and extended part while carrying, however, maybe because my cat is small, I was able to carry her with the carrying handle by hand with the extension part open. But I don't really recommend doing this, it's not the safest or sturdiest. The bottom may not be able to hold weight over a few pounds. To carry it the proper way, you would close the barrier between front and back, place cat inside the backpack, and carry the carrier on your back as a backpack. There is of course a carry handle on top you can use if you choose not to put on your back, you can just carry it. Seems good quality, good zippers, safe, effective, and priced appropriately. My favorite thing was that I could allow my cat more room to move around in the car and then letting her see and smell her surroundings upon arrival to destination, before opening it. They can come out at their own pace this way. Another positive for my cat was that it was mostly mesh for the openings and where the cat can see out. Minimal sized too. I can't get the ones with clear "windows" because my cat will panic over being outdoors. One negative, keeping the extension part folded up against the backpack when not on your back. I'm sure there is an exact way to do this but I didn't find it. The carrier also turns into a cute little bed. Which my cat never even sat in. But she did fantastic on the trip and slept mostly, oblivious to her surroundings. For a cat that hadn't been outside past the front entrance for 8 years, and never been in a carrier before, I have to say I love this carrier.

After reading other reviews and seeing that it looked like a good product, I ordered it. I Had no issues with the delivery and think the Product was packaged well. This truly is the best thing I’ve had to carry my small dog. I have a stroller and TSA approved bags, but none is compared to this backpack. It has so many functions it makes it super easy to travel light and comfortably. I turn it into a tent whenever I need my dog to be away on someone else’s space, it’s amazing on the car and he loves it! It’s very sturdy too and definitely a steal!! Get it you won’t regret this. 6 month update - My dog refuses to sleep anywhere that’s not this bag. It had become his bed, carrie and hangout spot. I absolutely will buy another one for backup. A few things broke, like the clip on the backpack straps. Still this product gets a 5 star review for how much my dog loves it and how much we use it.

For the price, I was expecting just the bare minimum. This was surpassed my expectations. The body of the carrier was sturdy, the plastic zippers were hefty, and my chubby cat fit so well in the smaller compartment of the two compartments with enough room to turn around. I love the versatility of this bag: just carrying it as a traditional backpack, switching to the larger compartment for vet visits or hike breaks, or open up the middle divider for an even bigger area for the cat to stretch out. My cat is a hefty guy and his weight felt good on my back with the wide shoulder straps and the chest strap. Easy to adjust after putting it on my shoulders and to loosen the straps before taking it off. I'm excited to try it on bigger, longer adventures.

This is a cool design and is very breathable with lots of zippers (maybe more than necessary?). It was a bit more cramped for my cat than I was hoping for, but as long as I throw plenty of treats in there he doesn't complain too much.
