Need a lot of hardwood or dense carpet for this to work as expected. Cat loves to watch and bat at it when it's moving but my hardwood floor has some area rugs, and while it runs ok on the the dense rug, when it tries to transition up or down it gets stuck. It also often gets stuck when it hits a solid wall and can't self correct. Does not work on low pile carpet, which was to be expected with the small wheels. ... show more

My kitten likes to hunt and kill things liked other robot toys but this scared the crap out of him and my dog that likes to hunt lizards and is not a barker were both scared of it and got out of it's way the dog even chuffed his way up to a couple of actual barks at it. Think as kitten grows into his big paws this will become a beloved toy but for now it is at the bottom of the toy box. ... show more

Looks like a great toy, slithery random motion and obstacle avoidance works well, but unfortunately both of my cats ran away from it, and one got so freaked out he hid in the back room for a couple hours, then was uncharacteristically skittish the rest of the night. Both of these cats have chased 4' iguanas off my dock, so can't figure why the reaction to this toy! ... show more

My 2 kitties love this. They just look at it for a few minutes then they are off chasing a snake. It helps if they have "catcrack" Amazon sells that as well and that's on my S&S order.

UPDATE. Though the cats do love this toy they have long hair and it got caught in the wheels causing them to freak out so I don't recommend this toy for cats who have long hair I have 3 cats. One of them is afraid of it while the other two are playing with it. The sensor to avoid things works well. In fact too well. In a smaller area the snake spends more time going backwards trying to avoid things. The snake also gets stuck fairly easy if it runs over something. ... show more

Toy is really cool, moves like a real snake, has a sensor so when it approaches an obstacle or wall it backs up and turns then carries on. Found out the rubber had slipped off a wheel and there was hair and fuzz stuck around wheel when it would only go in circles, which was a very simple fix with tweezers. My biggest concern was if you have a long hair cat, like I have a Maine Coon with a long mane...be very careful!!! He loved it so much until the wheels got tangled in his mane and he completely freaked out and ran around like a maniac until it detached then he was completely traumatized and would run away at the mere sight or sound of it. I may have to return it, which stinks because it is so realistic how it moves, but I swear my poor cat thought it was actually biting him. A short haired cat would love it. Update...instead of returning it I gave it to my aunt for her short haired kitty and he absolutely loves it...no issues at all. ... show more
