There are other styles that hook on to your doors casing and honestly, we have really tall casing none of them can hook on to. This one has a really strong spring and works everywhere, even on one of our soffits/headers. It actually stays up there and the cats are pulling on the toy. I was super skeptical about it, thinking it'd be like all the rest. Nope. It actually freaking works. Best of all, our two boys beg to play with this toy. Only negative, and I really don't feel like it deserves a star reduction. You have to use their USB-C cable. Turns out a regular phone cable won't charge it. My wife has an Oura ring and that charging cable works (it's longer than the one they provide). So, slight inconvenience that it charges only using their cable, but the boys love it. My youngest cat, Bagel, loves the original hanging door mouse toy we have, but when a friend showed me her own version of this automatic mouse toy I knew we had to have it. Seriously this is probably one of the best purchases I've ever made. Bagel is high energy and he is obsessed with this toy. It wiggles and flops around, which catches and keeps his attention. He even plays with it when it is turned off. He can often be found sitting beneath it, meowing to ask that the toy be turned on for him! Lol My only cons: - string often gets a bit wild and ends up wrapped over top of the round cover on the motor and gets stuck. When it does, the motor keeps going and you either listen to it make a very annoying whining noise as it tries to run, or you have to repeatedly get up and unwide it. It never tangles or anything, just wraps a loop up and around so the motor can't move the string. Battery could be better. It does run for a cycle where it goes for period of lile 10-15 minutes, stops for a break and then turns on again. This cycles goes for about 2 hours before it will shut itself down and you will need to press the button if you want to restart the cycle. But the battery lasts only for a day or so under intermittent use. It can be a bit taxing to recharge it often, but Bagel loves it so I'll do it. Overall, definitely worth the purchase. It's 1 year later and I'm pleasently astonished that this toy is still in 1 piece and working! I bought a simular, much less durable one that broke in an hr. before this one so I was hesitant to buy but I'm glad I did! cats love it. Love that the mice have little hoops to tie to, not just attatched by the string and once it's ripped off you have to try to tie it around the mouse. Came with 2 different length rope. my cats Stull haven't chewed through it, and if they did you could still attach again. Great toy design. ... show more

My cats absolutely love this toy! And it comes on and stays on and goes off when it’s supposed to. I would like it to come on more often… But it’s still a great toy. But here’s the problem… The clamps at the top that hold the toy on your door frame or wherever you choose to put it… Have broken. I fixed them or tried to..over and over again with tape and everything else just to get it to stay up…but they are pretty spent. You have no choice..you must unclamp it regularly to take it down in order to charge it a lot so there’s no way of trying to preserve the clamps! Good toy and is still working even though I have had to find creative ways multiple times to reattach it up again on the doorway. 😕 ... show more

Man let me tell you something about these toys. I have four cats I rescued from where I worked for ATT before I retired. Got home, they got older, lazy and fat. Once I charged the toys using USB, and placed them out, the cats curiosity went viral and now they have fun burn calories and their mood appears to be much more enthusiastic. I will be looking for more toys like this because it even promotes a happy social environment for my furry friends. Oh forgot to mention, after they are finished with their session of play, they come to me and rub themselves on my leg, guess that is their way of saying thank you.
