It is a lumpy bed. The inside piece is separate and is lumpy. It fits inside the outside piece. Not exactly heart shaped. It looks more like the picture after it sat overnight. It’s adequate. Since it’s two pieces it would be easy to wash. My cats aren’t interested in it, see below. If they continue to ignore it, I will give it to my sister. Her dogs aren’t so picky. I wouldn’t recommend this bed. After have this bed for awhile, two of my cats have decided they like the bed. They are sleeping in it. I thought it would another useless bed, but kitties like it. That is why I have amended my review.

I really like this little bed. I got it for my unexpected kittens so they wouldn't sleep in the box. At first they wouldn't sleep in the kitten bed and still chose the box, but since they're growing and exploring more I notice they do climb in and snuggle into the softness to sleep. I love it.
